when and how often do you apply Black Magic cleaner/polish?

Exactly which Black Magic do you have? There are several kinds. Black label is just polish, XL is polish and cleaner.. there are others too.

i have the xl and new to it and want to know how and how often it should be used.

Well the XL will really add length to your ball, so I would use it when you feel like you aren't getting the length you've been getting and feel like the ball is hooking a bit too early. I wouldn't use it as my everyday cleaner and I wouldn't use it on every ball, I'd have a standard cleaner like Storm Reacta Clean for that. But the XL is really good stuff when used right.
