Thread: Payout by games played

    Default Payout by games played

We have just finished our first year of league bowling, and we want to payout our money by the amount of games played by each member. Can someone please give me some kind of formula. As an example, I bowled 81 of the 102 games for the winter league (34 weeks), and we won $186.61 for the team, and we want to pay out by the number of games played, more games played, the more of the pot you get. Does any of this make sense to anyone? Any help is appreciated. No matter how I figure it, there is extra money left over...

Say you bowled 81 games, and the rest of them bowled all 102.

Add each of the games bowled together. 81+102+102+102 = 387

    Divide 81/387, and 102/387.

81/387 = .20930(it goes further but lets stop there)
    102/387 = .263565

    .20930 x the pot, $186.61 = $39.05 would be your share

    .263565 x $186.61 = $49.18, their share.

(49.18 x 3) + 39.05 would come out to $186.59, this is because we didn't go further in the decimals in step 3, but I don't think you can divide two cents easily among 4 people anyway.

I hope this makes sense, it does to me, but that's probably because I'm really good at math

If it doesn't make sense, just tell me how many games each person played and I can do it for you.

    You can make this simpler:
The payout amount is figured by taking the total amount of prize money and dividing it by the total number of games.

This will give you the amount of a one game share.

Then multiply the number of games you bowled by the one game share.

    using the above numbers Example:

Add together all the games everyone bowled. 81+102+102+102 = 387

186.61 prize fund is divided by 387 games 186.61/387=.4821963 one game share

    81 games times .4821963 one game share 81 X .4821963 = $39.0579

    your prize= $39.05

Heres what we did on my mens league.

K&K Glass League Prize Payout Estimate 5 man team, 6 man roster

The payout amount was figured by taking the total amount of prize money and dividing it by 170 weeks.
    (34 weeks X 5 Players=170 weeks)
This will give you the amount of a one week share. Then the one week share was multiplied by the number of weeks paid for by the bowler.

Number of weeks paid for by:
    bowler1- 29 weeks
    bowler2- 33 weeks
    bowler3- 34 weeks
    bowler4- 31 weeks
    bowler5- 27 weeks
    bowler6- 16 weeks
    Total weeks 170

    Payout by place
    1st half: 7th place tie: $505.00
    2nd half: 4th place: $900.00
    Overall: 4th place: $510.00
    Payout Total: $1915.00

Amount of a one week share: $11.26
    $1915.00 / 170 weeks = $11.26

    Individual payouts:
    bowler1- 29 weeks X $11.26 = $326.54
    bowler2- 33 weeks X $11.26 = $371.58
    bowler3- 34 weeks X $11.26 = $382.84
    bowler4- 31 weeks X $11.26 = $349.06
    bowler5- 27 weeks X $11.26 = $304.02
    bowler6- 16 weeks X $11.26 = $180.16

    Total: $1914.20

    Adjusted Individual payouts:
    Adjusted to compensate for rounding

    bowler1: $326.50
    bowler2: $371.50
    bowler3: $382.50
    bowler4: $349.50
    bowler5: $304.50
    bowler6: $180.50

    Total Payout: $1915.00

    Extra Prizefund Payout by Place:
    4th place: $955.00 ($191.00 per person)

    Amount each person gets:
    bowler1: $326.50 + $191.00 = $517.50
    bowler2: $371.50 + $191.00 = $562.50
    bowler3: $382.50 + $191.00 = $573.50
    bowler4: $349.50 + $191.00 = $540.50
    bowler5: $304.50 + $191.00 = $495.50
    bowler6: $180.50
