Default Video of me bowling 5-13-10

I've been trying to tone down the back-swing lately, so what you see isn't exactly what I am doing now.

It's funny, since lowering my back-swing, my ball speed has actually gone up, maybe that was the fix I needed when I asked about it a while ago.

First of all, that is a very YELLOW bowling center. That is hard to look at! lol. Secondly, is there a reason that you hop on your second step? I have never seen that in my years of coaching. It doesn't seem to affect you negatively though, so to each their own. And last but not least, You still have a pretty high backswing, but it matches your approach speed, so you would have to adjust both if you want to go lower in the back swing. I don't think that you throw the ball too fast, or that your backswing is too high. It does seem like the ball gets ahead of your feet a couple times in that video though. Timing is hard to be perfect everytime, but all in all you throw a pretty good ball.
In the spirit of the title of this thread, I will post the links to my two ball reaction videos too. Feel free to comment constructively if you feel so inclined.

Yeah, I think it might just be my camera because it doesn't seem that yellow in person, lol. And I never noticed the hop before, I think it might have developed when I began pushing the ball away instead of using a hinge swing, since in my older videos I don't have it. This video was made before I started lowering my backswing, and is the reason I'm trying to lower my back-swing now... in this video my speed was generally around 15.1-15.9 mph, now since lowering my back-swing it's around 16.2-16.8mph, my feet are moving faster too... I'll try to get a video of it up.

As for you, you throw a strong ball, but if you could get around to it, do you think you could get a video of your whole form and approach? That'd be cool to see

I will definately do that. I have some PBA patterns I just programmed into my oiler, so I will be practicing soon. I will tape it and post it on this thread in the next day or two.

Here is the video. Sorry it took so long. I had a busy weekend. This is a few shots from 3 different angles. You will notice that I don't keep my arm very close to my body, which I am working on. I am bowling on my least favorite PBA pattern, the shark, so I have to play a very straight line. If you notice it doesn't sound like I hit a lot of pins on a couple of the shots, it is because I wasn't practicing spares. I threw strike balls even when there wasn't a full rack left. Let me know what you think.

Naw, fail would be to give up, don't give up! Really though. I'm on my second wall to break down. The first wall came down when I decided to just "throw the ball". BAM! My average has been going up steadily ever since.

PS - looking forward to seeing that vid!

    Lol at 0:45..

Anyway, my form used to look a little like that, when I switched from bowling no thumb to bowling with thumb.

I'll post the first video I took of my thumb with a new video that I'm going to take today, to see how far I've come. It's gone far in the 15 or so months that I've been using my thumb
