i bowl in a league at an amf house and get 2 free games a day and $2.00 a game after that but that is a deal only my league gets, i think. league bowlers pay $2.00 a game.
the other house i bowl at i get $1.00 a game for the summer which is awesome.
My curiosity has got the best of me after reading a post on an Australian forum in reference to the new AMF rates, so I'm curious as to what people are paying to practice all around the country. Here in Memphis I pay 10.00 for 2 hours non prime time and 12.00 for 2 hours prime time. I bowl at least 2 hours on Sat. just for fun/ practice, and sometimes 2 hours on Friday after work , usually in the winter when it gets dark early since I work out doors. The bottom line is that if I had to pay the prices they pay I'd quit bowling, so I got to wonder what the prices are like in the rest of the country. I also take lessons and bowl league on Sundays but, that's not practice.
Good luck and good bowling

Normal prices: $2.50/game
1 League: $1.50/game
2 leagues: $1.00/game
3+ leagues" $0.00/game
I bowl 3 leagues
Yee
$1.75 before 4pm per game
$2.25 after 4pm per game (league rate)
$1.00 before 4pm on Saturday
$2.25 after 4pm on Saturday
$2.25 on Sunday
$2.25 is the league rate on any given time after 4pm and on Sundays. Prices going up? I was unaware of that, we have an AMF house. The house is incredibly outdated on all the equipment, they are cheap owners from what I've heard, don't know them anyway except for one who is real nice.
Keep us posted OP if you can.

In Oregon, We are one of the cheapest houses. Our regular day rate for an adult is 3.00 and 4.00 after 6pm. During the fall we offer $2 a game for league bowlers. During the Summer, league bowlers get .50 games and if they bowl two summer leagues they get 5 free games a day. We do offer Monthly passes for $60 to our league bowlers too.

The center I bowl at has a good deal on Saturdays. $10 all-you-can bowl until 9pm (I think). It's great. I usually go around 1pm and bowl about 10 games. I don't know what the regular prices are since I only practice on Saturdays.
The league I was in last season was $15 a night, 3 games. ($? per game + league dues or something).

Here in the Southeastern United States, we've seen a drop in bowling prices with more special rates and promotional events. There's even a center in town that offers free bowling on Monday nights after 9pm (they're only open until 11pm). It's the economy, I'm guessing.
Coupons are a great way to bowl on the cheap. Almost every center has some time period or other where the price is reduced. I can't remember the last time I paid more than $1/game to practice.

I got a dilemma or a situation. Our house is grossly outdated. Pins fall when being set or are not set at all and the scoring system botches your score IE a 9-spare should have been scored it gives you 8-open frame. We desperately need new equipment, it's from the 70's AMF Scoremaster series. They're milking it until we need new or refurbished pinsetters and scoring devices and monitors. It might get down to the league people boycotting the house due to this. But there is no where else to bowl. I don't know the owners but I know one of them who is a decent guy on the surface. There is another house 25 miles away but haven't been there. Probably the same, who knows.
For those of you who bowl at the $2 level, what is the equipment like? Is it up-to-date or marginal?
I feel we are in the middle ages and us bowlers are the peasants who have no bread and the royalty exclaims "Let them eat cake". I don't know the owner's financial well-being but it can't be too bad. I wonder if they are just they're just sitting on their hineys letting it roll in or are trying to just make ends meet, hard to tell. But us bowlers wish there would be something said or they would act upon it. I guess the trade off is cheaper games with some aggravation or higher prices with up to dateness.
