Good bowling center(s) in St. Louis?

I'm visiting St. Louis next week. Does anyone know of a good place to go bowling? I looked on Google maps, but the reviews from there all talk about the food and beer (go figure ). This is a good chance for me to get away from my local center and I'd like to take advantage of the opportunity.

Based on their websites, Shrewsbury Lanes and Crestwood Bowl seem nice. There's also an AMF Strike 'N Spare, are they pretty good?

I once went to flamingo bowl and thought it was awesome, but I knew absolutely nothing about bowling back then. It seems like more of a nice bar/lounge that just happens to have a few lanes.

oh, and are any of them smoke-free?
