Thread: Chipped ball...

    Question Chipped ball...

Just how much wear and tear would you expect your ball to have after 15 games?

Mine is covered with dints, chips and deep scratches (especially around the top of the ball, i.e above the fingers) after only 15 games...

    Default Dented balls

You are always going to have some coverstock damage. Always check your ball when you get it from the ball return. Sometimes the damage is from the equipment in the back. If your ball takes longer than normal to come back or you have to call for a ball return, double check your ball. The bowling center usually tries to repair or replace your equipment if it their machines that do it. But, you have to report it then. I hope I helped you.

I had to get a lane technician to retrieve my ball twice today but as the kids are on their summer holidays the cosmic lights were on, so I didn't notice the poor condition of my ball untill I washed it earlier this afternoon...

    Default Washing your ball?

I hope that is a UK term for cleaning. I knew a guy once who put his in the dishwasher. I use commercial ball cleaner. What do you use.

Yeah, washing is a term for cleaning.

My ball is made from Urethane so I've been using washing liquid.

I wash mine in the kitchen sink every once in a while....I wouldn't worry about the scratches too much, mine get those too.

The only time you need to worry about deep scratches is when they are on your track.

    Default On the track line

Definitely on the track line. Damage there will cause all kind of problems. It definitely will not roll true. By the way, I hope you didnt take offense at the cleaning thing. I used to be in the service with a guy from Birmingham UK. We used to rib each other about the different terms used in our countries. He was a good guy.
