they do custom balls and will put any picture you want on the ball. Very reliable people
My husband recently joined a league. The team is all family members and this is something that is purely for fun and gets him out of the house. His birthday is coming up next month and I thought it would be wonderful to get him a ball of his own.
He is a huge - and I mean HUGE - Superman fan. So I thought how wonderful it would be if I could find a superman ball for him. (He even had one bookmarked from ebay - So I know he's thinking it).
The problem is two-fold. It would appear that all of the Superman balls I find are discontinued which seems to make finding them slightly more difficult. The other problem is that many of them only come in 8lbs. I have found a couple of websites that offer it in higher weights. My husband wants a 12 lb ball. My problem is I have read some horror stories about some of the places selling these Superman bowling balls, claiming to have it in 12, 14 and sometimes higher lbs., but when the customer receives it, they only get 8 lbs and is told by the company that they must have "read the description wrong."
I have found a website where there is a ball I'm interested in and I cannot find any reviews about the company so I don't know how trustworthy are. I really don't want to pay so much and have nothing to show for it.
Lucky Bowler.com is the website. here is the link I am looking at:http://www.luckybowler.com/bowlingba...rman-blue.html
So I have many questions and they are as follows:
Has anyone ever dealt with Lucky Bowler.com and how was their experience with them?
Why am I mostly only finding it for 8lbs? For this reason should I be leery when I do happen to find them in a higher weight?
Is there some websites that someone can recommend with a good reputation that has this ball available?
Thank you all so much for your time!

Still love the game but had to quit because of my left leg amptation
High game 299 x 5 High sanctioned series 805 (1989)
The target market for those balls were young kids. Typically they would not use anything much heavier than 8lbs.
My wife has a couple of NASCAR #8 Dale Earnhardt Jr bowling balls. Both are 8lbs and are used strictly for display. They aren't even drilled.

If you're not the lead dog, the scenery never changes.
you could buy a gift certificate from your local pro shop
.
At the bowling center where your league bowls, talk to the center pro. I am sure he can locate, and get for you what you are looking for.
The bowling center pro is a great resource.
