Welcome! I don't know how much you'll pick up, but we've plenty of opinions.![]()
I'm from Western PA and I've been bowling since I was 10. That gives me a good.. 14 years (I took 4 years off in college even though I was told they had a bowling team.. they didn't)
These past 2 seasons have been my best yet, all averaging 210+ with numerous 700's and even an 812 series (had a 771 last week).
I love Brunswick products. I use a Twisted Fury, Avalanche, Slingshot, TZone, and I'm looking into the C-System 4.5 for really heavy oil.
I hope to learn more about bowling and pick up more tips. I go to tournaments in PA from time to time; yet I've never been to states. (I get asked every year when someone backs out.. usually the night before everyone leaves).

Welcome Mac2118. I'm from Western PA also. The State Championship Tournament will be close both this year and next. This year it is in Altoona, and next year it will be in Butler, so you won't have to travel very far. From the sounds of your post you want to bowl States. If true, get your own team. Don't wait to be asked. Make your own plans. Once you try a state level tournament, I think you will be hooked.
Have fun.

Altoona isn't very far from here... Maybe 45 min to an hour.
Butler? I bowled in the Mike Kelley Auto League my last semester of college back in the fall of '06. I forget the name of the house, but I do remember the crossbow lounge
I worked at Walmart there too for 3 years so I'm definitly familiar with the area.
Since Youre from W Pa, have you looked into the monster at the Seneca lanes? 10 games 1030pm-7am. I've been to the last 2 and they've been fun. I didn't have the right equipment the last time and did horrible.
If you remember the Crossbow, you were at Sherwood Lanes. I live in Butler.
Yes, I've bowled the "Monster" before. There is something about Seneca that I can't figure out. I like the house, but 10 shots in the pocket and walk away happy with a 160. I can't score in that house. Right now I don't have the time to try to figure why. Currently I am the president of the Pennsylvania State BA. That keeps me pretty busy.
