    Default Thumb Blisters

I was wondering if anyone had any good ways to prevent blisters on your thumb?

When I bowl, I tend to do about 6 games straight, one after another, and I have started to get a blister on my thumb, right about where the thumb connects with the hand. Today, I bowled six games, and the skin on my thumb just kinda peeled away, and started bleeding. Now its kinda raw, and I need to let it heal. Is there any way to prevent this? Or is this normal, and it will go away eventually?

If this was with your new ball, go back to the pro shop and have them check the grip. At the least you might need a little more bevel on the thumbhole.

Is it normal to develop a blister? No. In a well fitting grip you shouldn't have any rubbing.

Now if that was the first ball You ever had drilled for you. Having to make some adjustments to your grip can happen. that's why you look for any rubbing etc. when you first use it to see if you need to tweak the fit any.

If you do have some issues, you go back to the shop and get it adjusted. (Most shops don't charge you for making those adjustments)
So check with the shop, show him where its rubbing.
