looking for a specific ball movement

Ok, I use symmetric core bowling balls because asymmetric balls are too hard for me to control for the type of lane play i do now. So keeping the symmetric core in mind, I need a ball (with layout if good) that is able to play the angle of the release point of 22-23 board at the foul line to about 12-14 board at the break point in that deep oil and be able to 1. Come back with enough power to carry and 2. Not over hook easily unless i just screw up myself. The closest I've gotten to playing it was my Pro Pin Dark Star, but it can't seem to hit pocket with enough force to carry the ten. I also like how smoothly my Dark Star glides through the oil with a smooth backend, it's not a snap unless it hits the 1 board.

This is for house shots btw. I have a Hy-road drilled and surfaced almost like my Dark Star, but even with the extremely close RG/Diff #'s it's just too strong which I'm guessing is because of the hybrid coverstock. So if that is the case I'm guessing the ball still needs to be pearl, but with a stronger cover or core. I'm going to see my pro shop guy later today to try to figure this problem out, but if i could get any ideas to start with before hand that would be great. Thanks

The Victory road pearl would be a good option in the way of a pearl that will carry through the pins. Personally, I would go with the Tropical Heat Hybrid (silver and black). It is a heavy roller, so it doesn't jump off the break point, but it can play a variety of lines on the house shot. Depending on your rev rate, ball speed, and axis tilt, it would be a great ball. I used a leverage layout (pin 3 3/8" from my PAP, the MB on my first track line, and the pin just above my fingers) I really like this layout, but it isn't great for everyone. Give a little more info on your bowling style, and I can be more help.

Well I used to be a cranker, but recently I've been trying to play straighter to minimize the area on the lane my ball has to travel to get to pocket. I really like the tighter lane play personally because i can really focus on where my ball goes and breaks. I talk to my pro shop guy and we talked about how my Dark Star didn't quite pick up enough to carry in that middle oil and he suggested a 2Furious with 2000 grit + polish with a pin above the middle finger and cg under the ring finger. Also left with an Outlaw with a similar layout, but different CG angle and 2k grit surface for the medium and long Team USA oil patterns which i bowl on for a different league.

I'll get to try them out tomorrow before and during league. Also I haven't even heard about a Victory Road Pearl before this, any real information out there about it yet? It's not on Storms site yet.

The Victory Road is awesome! If you're looking for something that will start up a little earlier that is a bit more aggressive, the Tropical Heat Solid Violet/Indigo would be perfect. It's a polished solid and will do just that!

The Tropical Heat Silver/Black is a hybrid and the Orange/Purple is a pearl

The tropical heat has a hybrid coverstock on the silver and black one. That is how you got lead to that.

You made 2 very good choices. I was going to suggest a Rising Star with the surface adjusted to 2000 but your choices will fill that spot well. Also the cover-stocks on those 2 balls is very tunable with surface changes

I was actually talking about the Victory Road thinking it was a hybrid. I knew the black and silver Trop Heat was a hybrid.
