What roll does aesthetic's play in your choice of equipment, especially bowling ball?

Just out of curiosity. Simple question:

What roll does aesthetic's play in your choice of equipment, especially bowling balls?

Oddly enough, it's only a minor consideration. I don't like purple but I've had a bunch of purple balls because those were the balls with the characteristics I was looking for. The Roborule was an incredibly ugly ball but it worked pretty well for me. Last year we got Slingshots through a "have a ball" type league. It came in 5 different color combinations, and yes, color played a huge part in the selection..

For me, color would never be a reason to not throw a ball, but a good color scheme is always a plus. It's a fact, you bowl better with a ball that you "like".

Personally i don't care what it looks like as long as it does what i want. My joke has always been "Ugly balls strike". That being said if it looks nice it's a bonus. That also being said i'm going to drill a Jewel just because it's pink and real men aren't afraiid to throw pink LOL

Yeah, I don't think serious bowlers care much what a ball looks like. The more "fun" ball would be the spare ball since there are so many choices on designs in plastic balls.

I wanted a ball like Bill Murray's ball in King Pin for a spare ball, but other than that appearance doesn't matter to me.

The only time a balls colour really comes in to consideration for me is when I get a spare ball, there are a few bowlers in different leagues I play in that have pretty much the same equipment and its our spare balls that make us different..

I agree with the Mayor here. Color does play a big part for me. If I buy a ball that is supposedly good, I won't like it much if the color scheme is horrid. That's the only thing stopping me from buying a nano :].
