This article was provided for me and I think it will give you a couple of ways to determine your rev rate. Check about half way through the article.

How do you determine your rev rate? Always curious too see how much I do rev the ball. I am assuming I must first video record the ball as it travels down the lane and see how many revolutions it makes over a period of time.

This website will calculate the revs for you once you follow their steps. All you do is put a piece of tape from your axis to above your fingers. Then video tape yourself throwing the ball. With the frames slowed down, you count the times the ball spins in a certain number of frames and plug it in to the websites form. It will spit out your RPMS. I did it for 3 shots and got 388,392,and 397 so I averaged them to about 392. Kind of cool thing to know, but lots of regular bowlers will vary around 20-30 revs depending on how good the ball comes off their hands.
