New Jersey Bowler :)
Hey guys. 21 year old from Northern Jersey, and this is my story.
Friends of my girlfriend and I joined a "Have a ball" league last summer. Basically for those who don't know, you join this league, and at the end, you get your own ball. So every tuesday my girlfriend and I would go, cheer them on, and bowl some games. After about the 3rd week of going, I saw a sign for another Have a Ball league going on for the winter. So we joined. I started out bowling 60-80, and she bowled around the same as me. My average now in this league is a 114 and climbing, with hers being a 102. VAST improvement over the last few months. We like to go about 2-3 night a week. We went tonight and bowled 6 games each. My high game was a 197, hers was a 170. I'd say we're getting better
.
A co-worker of mine used to be a bowler, but she had surgery on both of her knees and the doctor said she's not allowed to bowl anymore(bummer). So she had a gift certificate for bowling.com for $100, and she said I can just HAVE it. So I went, looked for a decent Reactive Resin ball, and purchased a Brunswick Wicked Siege for $90. Score! Also, we went to another local Alley by us called T-Bowl(I hate their lanes there) and there was a sign that said FREE EQUIPMENT, with an Ebonite Hardball underneath. I said NO WAY, and asked. They said I can have it. So all in all, I paid about $40 for about $400 in bowling equipment.
I use a house ball for right now, but luckly it was someones old ball.
