    Default Need advice on invasion

First of am new to the forums so sorry if this is in the wrong category,

I have had my storm invasion for about 1 year now and have only had it re surfaced once, I'm bowling on medium to heavy lanes in my league twice a week. It's a 14 lb ball and I throw it anywhere between 17 - 20 mph and my rev rate is high,

Now my problem, the ball doesn't hook anymore, no matter how fast or amount of revs. The ball just skids and soaks up a lot of oil, e.g can feel it when picking up the ball.

Should I get this resurfaced again? Is there anyway I can remove the oil from inside the ball safely?

Hi Mak and Welcome to the forum!

    About removing oil:
The safest and best method is to see if your pro-shop has one of the oil extraction machines. Have them remove the oil and then have them return the ball to it's OOB or whatever surface you like using.

For a at home method of oil extraction, the most common one is the "Hot Water & Dawn" method. Basically this method consists of putting your ball in a bucket of hot water with soap in it, which will cause the oil to leach out of it.

Read this other thread it tells you more about how to do it properly.

One method NOT TO DO is put it in a oven, you can destroy your ball.

Now some other possibilities for why your Invasion is not hooking.
One is maybe your throwing it too fast. It's a lighter ball, it would be easy to over throw it in heavy conditions. Try slowing it a little give it a chance to work.

Second sometimes when a strong ball performs weak, it's because the the conditions are too dry and the ball rolls out.

But since you said there's a lot of oil on the cover, we'll just assume the coverstock is oil soaked and needs the oil removed.
