The important question here is, do you hook the ball? If you don't, do you plan on hooking the ball? If you aren't hooking the ball and have no plans to, then no, don't buy a high end ball. Those balls are made to hook. If you do hook the ball, or are planning to hook the ball, then yes, I'd get a high end ball if I were you.

What type of ball are you throwing now?

In all honesty, go with the Reckless instead of the Hellraiser. I own two Hellraiser Revenge with different drillings and I CAN NOT use them on a typical house oil pattern. We have guys in our league who do but they are very low rev, stroker style players. The Reckless will allow a more natural progression in your progress and is a VERY versatile ball. I can use my Reckless on any board from 5 thru 40.
Ask bowlers that regularly bowl at your house how they would describe the oil pattern. Ask many to get a more realistic consensus then buy a ball to match the conditions, i.e. dry for dry, medium for medium, etc. Let us know what you decide. Also, see if the pro shop will watch you bowl so they can match the drilling to your style.

noooo dont buy a high end ball go with a entry lvl ball like the DV8 misfit and go up from there once u get better at hooking a ball then u cna go up to the next one the reckless or too reckless but dont go for the hell raiser or hell raiser revenge just yet cause it wont do wat u igspected it too do and you would want to get another ball and it will do the same thing,

trust me ik cause when i started bowling i used a high performace ball but it was giving too me it took me alot of practice to get use to it and learn where my best line was it took 2 years with that ball and i got a 300 but it was on luck cause i hit broocklin and few times.

right know im a 4th year bowling imgetting better but not the best i got the hell raiser revenge got it drilled and because of my shot chnaging abit cause of me lowering my revs the ball did not mvoe how i wanted it too at the start i was thinking dame i must be doing something wrong but no it was just my revs where lower then the speed soo i just started picking my revs back up and i got it move alot know, the reason why i droped my revs for awhile was to work on my accuacy
