side note to playing my team mate two handed.

he was getting so much rev on his ball, the first few practice, he was putting it as far left as possible (he's a lefty), like almost in the gutter, and it would either shoot all the way across into the right gutter or maybe pick up a 6-10 lol

well if he was bowling next to the gutter then it was most likely very dry, have him bowl more in the middle, the oil will carry it out more and will hook less.

for me, maybe it's just myself not bowling consistent enough.. but i hit my mark more accurately than when i'm using 1 handed.. and i've only tried 2-handed just a couple of months ago.. lol..

these were the practice shots and a few early ones. he did start doing that a little later on. I think a few were kinda on purpose just cause it was hilarious to watch it shoot that far across like that.

He did throw a perfect 10 in the pit during the game. I had a double early on, first one was jersey, second one was a solid pocket hit

so my question is, does everybody here think i should use the 2-handed release when the lanes have just been oiled?
You gotta go with the best results.
A guy in my league started trying the two handed release a couple months ago and he took to it like a duck to water. He was only averaging around 125 with the one handed release and I watched him progress with the two handed and he is shooting 150+ now and looks very good at times. The two handed suits him well and I reckon if he sticks with it, he will average well over 170 in a couple more months.

Good point Etrain. The oil pattern typically looks like a christmas tree in shape and if you bowl on the extreme outside, you will get off the oil earlier. I bowl 5 boards out from the middle arrow and get good skid. If I throw right down the middle, it hardly hooks at all, especially if there are right handed straighties on there with me.
I use a Tropical Heat and can easily cover 12-14 boards with no effort at all.
