Thinking about getting a new ball HELP ME!

I'm interested in getting a new ball. I've had my Virtual Energy for about a year now and i would like to invest in a new ball to try and increase my average. The lanes at my local alley are wooden and usually have a lot of oil on them. I like to throw 16mph to 18mph right down the 2nd arrow. I've heard some suggestions such as the Storm Marvel but i wanted some more opinions. Please help me. Thanks.

Or a DV8 Hellraiser Revenge. Both this and the Nexxus are great balls

billf the hell raiser revenge will be too much on wood lanes the ball would not be controllable, but if anything the modern marvel is a good ball agressive but another ball that would work great are some of the track balls like the 716T or the 508A take a look into the track balls there alot of them to choice from and they are worth getting cause they hit hard.

I would suggest the modern marvel too, if you are looking to keep your energy and the new one. If you want to replace the energy, I would go with a crossroad or Marvel Pearl. The Nexus is a great ball, but would be too much to play that line on wood lanes. I am not sold on the DV8 equipment yet.

Given how new it is that is understandable. I had an issue with Storm/Roto-Grip earlier this year. Bad enough I totally changed my arsenal. Not being particularly enamored with anybody else I decided to give the new off-shoot a try and went DV8. I did purchase a Storm Natural Pearl a few weeks ago when I had the Nexxus I won here drilled and really like the ball. I still have my Victory Road, Hy-Road and others in my closet. Given the games on them I mostly use them for practice.

One question for you Daniel, wouldn't his axis rotation and rev rate determine which balls would actually be too strong for that line of play? I'm not asking to argue or disagree but rather given what I have read of your posts I do respect your opinion.

billf i agree with you the axis rotation is a good thing but maby with the other DV8 balls other then the HRR cause when i throw it im crossing boards and my axis rotation is not that much more end over end and it still gives a big strong hook but maby the too reckless or reckless would be best for him

Very much so! The problem is that most people don't give that info. I base answers of general questions off of the average bowler. People that want to play up ten will usually need less aggresive equipment than a Nano, Nexus, or Mission, but that is not always the case. I have almost 400 rpms and still can throw any ball I have ever drilled, except my theory, on a house shot. But most bowlers that play up ten are not comfortable moveing very far left. So I usually suggest balls that won't make the average person move out of their comfort zone. I also was recommending symetrical equipment instead. Most people get talked into asymetrical equipment, but I find that the symetrical cores are more predictable and score better for the average joe. I have talked a ton of bowlers out of a $250 ball, and into a $150 ball because it is better for them. I threw my tropical heat hybrid in league for 6 months, even though I have almost every ball Storm makes to choos from. You raised an excellent point Bill, so thank you for that.
