Thread: HRR vs MM

    Default HRR vs MM

Need some help trying to decide between the Hell raiser revenge and the Modern Marvel. I tend to throw with a lower rev rate so I want something that starts up real early on the lane. Also I'd just like to hear thoughts from people who may own these balls so I can try and make up my mind.

    Thanks.

I own two HRR. One is drilled pin up, the other pin down. I love these balls for heavy oil patterns. My rev rate is around 375rpm. I have a guy in my league who has one also and he has a low rev rate with a ball speed of around 14mph. He obviously plays further right than I do and he uses his on all oil patterns and loves it. I can use mine on lighter patterns but have to adjust my axis rotation to combat the heavy/early hook of this monster ball.

i got a HHR and i got mine with pin down for early roll and its one of the best balls i have thrown stays consistant hooks everytime at the same spot even when i change my speed unless i slow it down to nothing and just have fun with that kind of shot but the HHR is a great ball.

not sure how the MM is cause i have not seen anyone throw one yet but i am still looking to see someone with one and too see how it moves for them.

The HHR is going to hook much earlier than the MM. The MM is an amazing ball, but if you're a low rev player looking for something to use on heavier conditions, the HRR is a better choice. Some other great choices are the Defiant and Vivid.

HRR is going to start up soon and hook more. Modern Marvel has a hybrid coverstock I believe and a symmetrical core, so it will get down the lane farther, and make a smooth, predictable path to the pocket. Both high performance balls, you'd probably be happy with either of them.

    Couple questions:
    1. What went into the process for narrowing down your selection to those two balls?
    2. What are you throwing currently?
    3. Do you bowl THS leagues, tourney's, sport shots?

I ended up getting the HRR and boy am I happy. This ball moves and it moves hard even for someone like me that doesn't put a lot of revs on it. I used to be more or less a straight shot to the pocket but slowing down with this ball let's me open way up. It also hits like nothing I've ever seen pin carry is crazy.got it drilled pin up, even if I throw it straight through the oil it still grabs in the back end but the nice thing is if I put some speed on my throw I can rip it nice and straight for spares. I would suggest this ball for anyone that doesn't have one.
