    Default Hand hurting

I have been bowling a few nights a week for over a year now. I am in a league and even play a few games after league. Just recently though my hand started hurting and to the point of hurting to hold my 15 lb ball... Only thing differnt is I got a new ball but the pro shop manager looked at the ball I been throwing for months and drilled it the same span. The only other difference is that I started spreading my index finger futher from my hand and pulling in my pinky closer to my hand. Could this be the case of the hand all of a sudden hurting I should I get the pro shop to re look at my ball? Also the way I said I am doing my fingers is something new I just started doing here in the past two days or so...Thanks for any advice that you can give.

Have the pro shop look again. I wouldn't think moving your pinky or index finger would matter as far as hand pain goes. A span difference of as little as 1/16" is huge when talking spans.

I know that pain. I moved my pinky in once but in this case I folded it up, as many do, then rolled and pulled a tendon. The tendon I mention is between the pinky and ring finger and extends down to the back of the wrist. The pain was centered around the ring/pinky finger knuckles. It took months to heal but bowled anyway only I had to move my pinky out away from the ring finger and reduce flipping the wrist to create some revs.

Well I do not know exactly what it is but I can bend my pinky and ring finger fine but when i start to bend my middle and index finger to make a fist or even to twist off a bottle cap it hurts so I am not quite sure what it is or happened.

It sounds like your span is longer than it was on your other ball.

ok i can say this its not your pinky or index finger cause my pinky it right in close to my ringy fingers and my index is as far out as i can get it out i jsut started doing that this year and my hand i have much mroe controll over the ball.

but the thign that could be making your hand hurt is owling soo many game cause i use to beable to bowl 12 games a night but then the next day my arm hurt abit soo i stopped so many game and now only at 3 games when ever i go and practice but ik i cn still bowl alot of game cause after the 3 games i still gt lots of energy and then some week i join a turnny thast after league, and that makes me end upbowling 15 games in 1 day and i can still bowl alot more.

but it could be your span of your hand too cause i jsut got my ball properly drilled for my hand and its much different took abit to get use too but from what u sead he drilled it the same way you could have grown abit in your hand making the span too short but not sure.

Would he be able to measure the span himself and compare? No need to have the pro shop for that, center of finger 1 to center of thumb and same for finger 2 then do the same on the ball formerly used. I wonder if the pitch could play a role?

Pitch can play a role and yes, you can measure the span yourself. I use a cloth tape measure for more accurate results.
