Definitely a "house rule", my house plays tunes during league and this house doesn't "tie their shoes" without checking the USBC rules first.

Ahhh, then this is the refuge of the alley because they've outlawed music for all leagues but one. Mainly because people are what I would call way too serious.
It upsets the casual bowlers and half the league bowlers. But with most things the vocal minority wins out.
