Thread: "best" everyday cleaner for reactive resin

Default "best" everyday cleaner for reactive resin

After reading a LOT of threads and watching videos, it seems everyone agrees that doing a warm-water soak is important to perform every 60-100 games. That one was easy. But there is a mind-numbing array of cleaners out there for reactive-resin balls and I am totally confused about which one is good to use after each bowling session for people who don't have ball spinners. Here are some suggestions I've picked up and my thoughts or concerns. First, it seems that spray on/wipe off cleaners are easier than liquids that must be applied with cloths. That being said:

    • Storm Reacta Clean: Formulated for reactives. Gives balls the "tacky" finish but is a liquid not spray.
    • Storm ExtraClean: Formulated for all balls; users report that it makes their balls go a little too long after cleaning since it isn't specially formulated for reactives.
    • Powerhouse Energizer: For reactives. Users report good results but the chemicals melt the plastic cap, i.e. is this too harsh for everyday/regular use?
    • MonsterTac: For all balls; Some users report having to rub hard to remove marks.

Does anyone want to weigh in on their experiences or preferences?

i'm using the powerhouse energizer ball cleaner everytime i finish my bowling session.. just spray them on the ball and wipe it with a cloth.. the cap seems to be spoilt for most of us when kept in the bag...

reacta clean is a good cleaner, as for spraying just put a spray nozzle from another bottle on it or get a small spray bottle and pour it in it.
[*]Storm ExtraClean: Formulated for all balls; users report that it makes their balls go a little too long after cleaning since it isn't specially formulated for reactives.
one of the few I haven't tried.
[*]Powerhouse Energizer: For reactives. Users report good results but the chemicals melt the plastic cap, i.e. is this too harsh for everyday/regular use?
PH. Energizer is a simple citrus based cleaner, it cleans the surface ok but theres better. I've never seen it dissolve a cap! Its not even remotely that strong.
[*]MonsterTac: For all balls; Some users report having to rub hard to remove marks.
    haven,t tried it.

I use Brunswick clean all during competition (approved). I have used and do use Storm extra clean. Works great, especially on the black, gooey marks from the returns and such. I also use clean n dull at home.

I have not experienced the issue of the ball going too long with the extra clean. However, anything I can do to increase length I'm all for.

I personally use Reacta Clean for my everyday cleaner and Hook It as my deep cleaner and Clean N Dull as my deep cleaner on sanded equipment.

I use LaneMasters' ball cleaner for a few years, it does a great job, although they warn that it might damage non-lanemaster coverstocks. I use it every couple of weeks on my balls. I use Valentino's Remedy RX as an everyday cleaner though, it does a real good job.
