Urge to replace my 1999 Gyro and go from a modest curve to more hook.
I am a slow/steady delivery type, 15-16 mph. Picture myself the Earl Anthony type.
In 1999 I specified only slight curve when the ball was drilled.
It often works nice and gives me a 180+ average.
Any recommendations for stepping into a more active ball?

Earl is my patron saint. A lot depends on the oil pattern where you bowl, too. THS? What seems to work for other people with a similar style? I've been looking at a Benchmark, myself, but the number of options are staggering.
I have no preference, or knowledge about any brand over another. I keep meaning to ask at the lanes, what type (med-oily) the lanes are at Plano Super Bowl in Plano TX. I have no idea how to compare.
15-16mph I naturally suggest the Reckless by DV8.
Nexxus by Brunswick would hit nicely also if you prefer a sanded finish ball. Versa-max is a good polished ball.

i would suggest the DV8 too reckless gives good length and nice backend.
or if you want mroe hook you could look at the storm vivid or rotogrip defiant.
but as billf sead the nexxus is a good ball its self

Hmmm a Gyro reactive with a pancake weight block and guessing your playing kind off right (assuming your a right hander)
Storm- a Hy-Road or a Frantic or Victory Road
Update-forget the HR & VR instead look at the Crossroad
Rotogrip- Maybe a Outlaw or a Bandit or a Nomad Dagger
DV8- yeah a Reckless or maybe a Two Reckless

Bowlingball.com shows to still have them. The victory roads just came out last year, so should still be around, the Hy-road might not be around as much now.
But I'll change and say for Storm the Crossroad, since its using the hy-road shell and the victory road weight block. The best of both worlds.
