Default A Hoosier in the Bay Area

Hi everyone. All though I am not new to bowling. I have just started to get back to bowling regularly. I have about 20+ years of bowling even though I was not very active in leagues during the past eleven years due to serving in the US Coast Guard, which by the way is a military service. With getting out, I have found myself with more free time then I know what to do with. So I have decided to get more invlolved in a few things. I am currently helping a friend with his turtle business, buying, selling, trading, and even breeding. I have two of his Loggerhead Musk Turtles that I will be trying to breed. Anyways back to bowling. I have been bowling ever since I was strong enough to throw a ball down the lane and can't really remember not knowing how to bowl. All though it took me some time and a couple balls to get back into scoring where I should be, 150-216. I am back and willing to share the tips and tricks that I learned along the way. Back in my last year eleigible for youth bowling, at the state tournament I had something happen that should not happen to any left handed bowler out there. I lost my curve. It just stopped. To hear more about it you can visit my blog once I get it set up. I realize that this has turned into a long post. I am glade to be on here and look forward to reading and commenting on your posts. Thank you and may the strikes be with you.

Welcome to the forum. What the heck is a Hoosier doing in Cali? That's like a turtle with no shell, just not right.

I was in the Coast Guard, got orders to a new unit in the Bay Area, then the typical story happened. Boy meets girl, girl drives boy crazy, boy falls in love, boy marries girl, boy transfers to a ship and goes to sea, boy comes back to girl who is now wife, finished 10 years in the Coast Guard, gets out and stays in the Bay Area due to wifes job and family being here. That's the short version of what how it happened.

    JaMau~ That is hilarious.

Welcome to the boards. Watch out for those razorback musk turtles, they have a nasty bite. I watched one take a nice chunck of skin out of someone

Welcome! I'm a little south from you in Monterey. What houses do you bowl?

I started with Lane Lovers that use to be at Serra Bowl until it closed down due to the landlord wanting more money then what they were currently paying. I could get into what I think of them closing another time. Right now I am bowling on the summer league at Classic Bowl. Which I didn't even know existed until people told me where it was located.(right down the street from where I live. Thats what happens when you don't know an area that well) I have thought about going to Sea Bowl or Brentwood but just haven't had the motivation to do it since I am just now getting back to where I should be scoring. Once I am happy with my average at Classic, I'll venture out to the the other places that are not too far.

I haven't been out that far yet. Bowled at Monterey Lanes, Valley Bowling in Salinas, Morgan Hills and a tournament in Modesto. I am probably get into a tournament in San Jose soon, and maybe a large one in San Fran before I leave Cali in 2013.
