Default A funny thing happened on the way to league dominance....

SO I bowl in my Wednesday AM doubles league yeserday on fresh oil. I love fresh oil. What do I do? I throw my lowest series ever since I satarted bowling again last October - a 498. I was throwing my favorite ball (Critical Theory). Everything was ripe for me to have a good series, and I blew it. Good ball, good lanes, bad score - I am havng the vague suspicion that I am doing something wrong.....

The oil was fresh but was it heavy enough for the Critical Theory? Maybe just one of those days or too confident lol

Don't worry about it. We all have bad days. Just because you had one doesn't mean you're doing something wrong, it just means you had a bad day. Forget about it, then go have a great series next week. If it keeps happening over and over again, than yeah, there might be something wrong.

Here is one of my favorite sayings. It's by Susie Minshew, a well known bowling coach.

"Your game is constantly evolving. It will not stay the same and it won't always be sharp. Just when you think you don't have another 134 game left in you, out it comes. Peak performance levels are cyclical. That's what causes slumps. Bowling great doesn't last forever and neither does a slump."

Well I went back to the same center and got on the same pair with the same fresh oil. This time 191-214-229. Still left more 2 pins than I care for and the series wasn't GREAT but definitely an improvement...

Some days it's the lane other days it's "operator error."
