    Default Curious...

Perhaps this has been asked before, but who is your favorite professional bowler - both past and present and tell us why.

Past - Earl Anthony. The Earl was the picture of quiet intensity. He was a great competitor, smooth as glass and all class.
Present - Ryan Shafer because I used to bowl with him in leagues in Elmira, NY waaaay back when.

My favorite present players are Jason Belmonte and Mike Fagan. I like Belmo because I've met him in real life and he's really cool. I like Fagan because he is really fun to watch and I love his form.

Past; Earl Anthony. who can't like a guy that could roll a ball over a gnat at 60 feet?
Present; Norm Duke, Tommy Jones, Jack Jurek and of course Walter Ray Williams Jr

I'll agree with everyone about Earl Anthony in the past, but I'll add Carman Salvino. He was always fun to watch jumping arouund and looking like he was actually having fun. for the present I would say Norm and WRW as well.

Past: Dick Weber, Class act all the way.

Present: Hard to pick just one. So many of the guys who started out back in the '80s and '90s are still out there being quite competitive.

Watched some vids of the great Andy Varipapa yesterday. Some regarded him as a trick-shot artist, but the guy had real talent...
