I would have to say my all time favorite guitar player is Jimmy Hendrix
as he was able to do things with a guitar that no one else has ever been
able to do, at least no one else that I've heard in the last few decades has
ever been close to playing like him.

Randy Rhodes was phenomenal but didn't live long enough for people to remember his name. Most people just call him Ozzy's guitarist and didn't even realize he played with Quiet Riot.

My favorite guitar player is a guy from Austin named Monte Montgomery. He plays rock music on an acoustic guitar with effects and such. The fact that he's playing acoustic gives his tone a fullness that no one else has. Not to mention I also think he's the best. The guy is a beast, check it out! Here's him playing Hendrix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCgEuDODhf0

I think this shows off his skills the best though. His own song called 'When Will I' from Austin City Limits. The first unsigned artist ever invited to play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glBwJWdSqCY

The other "best" guitarists (in my opinion):

    Chet Atkins
Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)
    John Mayer
    Jimmy Page
The Edge (masterful use of effects to create a landscape, and member of the world's greatest band)

    Sorry, couldn't pick 3!
My new CD, 'What I'm Made Of' is available now at www.dustinseymour.com, iTunes, Amazon and more!

    I'm a bowler and a musician. I have a strong love for both. www.facebook.com/dustinseymourmusic
