Sweeper?
Now that i got the whole bracket and side pot thing down. Can someone explain to my what is meant by a sweeper tournament?
Basically it's just a term for a small "special event" tournament , the format can vary. Some Leagues have end of season sweepers, if there's going to be a "Big" tournament at a house they might have a sweeper where you can win a entry into the larger tournament. etc.Originally Posted by ursus

Our center has 'holiday sweepers'. Basically it's just a doubles tournament they host on holidays. I live in farm country and a lot of people work in factories that close between Christmas and New Year's and they also get the Friday after Thanksgiving off. I'm not that lucky.
