From what I've seen from other people playing with one, it looks to be a really good ball (the Nexus FPR).
If I could get 2 new balls right now, it would probably be the Nexus FPR, and either the VG Nano Pearl, or one of the 2 new pearls coming out soon (the defiant pearl, and the new brown/black nexxus pearl).

Because there are so many beginner and intermediate bowlers that mistakenly believe that the newest, most aggressive ball is what they need rather than matching the ball to the bowler's style and lane conditions![]()

Very well said bill we have a few people like that around here they only want the most
aggressive ball on the market instead of what they really need to play the lanes around
here. Then they gripe because the ball doesn't hook enough for them and then when you
try to explain to them that it isn't the right ball for the condition because it is burning up
to early they get mad.
They then say well it did great when I watched them throw it on TV then you have to go
through all the trouble of trying to explain to them why it did good on TV and not here
because of the different oil pattern(s).Then go through all the trouble of trying to explain
to them that the ones they watched throwing the ball(s) on TV were professional bowlers
and they are not going to be able to use it like them on a house shot.

Bill
I watched a league night in Dayton with a Gold coach one night. There were 4 pros subbing and they had the lowest scores of their teams. I mentioned how surprised I was giving how easy a house shot it compared to what they normally bowl on. That's when the coach explained that given their normal rotations they would have to increase their rev rates dramatically to create enough skid and/or ball down by a serious amount. He said a day or two of practice and they would be awesome but that's not the pattern they need to worry about scoring high on, this was just them having fun and hanging out with fans.
That's when it started to dawn on me that a reasonable rev rate and rotation with the right equipment was better than a stupid high rev rate and speed with too aggressive of equipment.

haha.. not me though.. but from what i see, the nexxxus would be the most suitable for my style.. it's less aggressive than the nexxus but yet more than my anaconda..
Speed: 12-14 mph
Rev Rate: 150-200
Style: Tweener
I agree with you 1000 percent Bill!! I think ball selection, based on YOUR unique style is KEY!! Everyone wants the biggest/baddest newest out! many, if not most times, its the wrong decision! Let your pro look at your style, and then talk it over with him would be my suggestion!
"Manic & Black/Cherry Tropical hybrid" Why? ... Because these two matched up with my speed and revs better than any of the others!!
All the other balls on demo day were way too strong on the lower volume shot we were bowling on.
The VG nano & nano pearl, and marvel and even the crossroad would jump through the nose even at 23 mph!!!
The Manic would get down the lane and was consistent as well as the Black/Cherry Tropical Hybrid!!! Manic for heavier oil & Black/Cherry Tropical for medium..Great Combo!!
I really wanted the VG Nano & Nano pearl but they were way too much ball for me!!![]()
