    Question Ball and Arsenal Question

Hi guys! i'm josh from the Philippines and i'm new here at the bowlingboards.com and so far i'm happy reading the comments that the members give in the threads and now i would like to ask for some advice.

I currently have the following balls in my arsenal.
    - Storm Domination Nano Solid
    - Roto Grip Infinite Theory
    - Hammer Taboo RPM (Can anybody tell me more about this ball? Or does anyone have this as well?)
    - Track 300C

I use the Domination Nano primarily in my weekly leagues. i have a chance to add 2 more balls next month and i was thinking of getting a Storm Vivid/Roto Grip Defiant and a Crossroad. if this would push through, i would probably let go of the Infinite Theory since the Crossroad would more or less cover the lane conditions that the Infinite Theory cover. As for the Vivid/Defiant, i plan to have it as a backup just in case the Domination Nano would suddenly die out on me since i've read in some forums that the high end storm balls die out quickly. So having the Vivid/Defiant would preserve the life of the Domination Nano which i love very much.

What do you think guys? The new balls that i can get are limited to Storm, Roto Grip, Brunswick, and DV8 balls since the pro shop that i deal with only carries those balls.

Hope you guys can give your thoughts on what i need to get to further strengthen my arsenal and also i really need more info on the Taboo RPM.

    Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of a Storm Domination so I have no clue how strong of a ball it is. Overseas release maybe? If you're looking for a ball a little stronger than the Defiant then I would suggest the DV8 Hell Raiser Revenge.
As for Storm's high end balls dying out, what I've seen is lack of maintenance being the cause. Too many low level bowlers buy high end balls with no clue how or the ambition to take care of them.
How about a Storm Natural Pearl for when the lanes dry up?

Thanks! In the link you gave, they said that its the "Strongest that they've ever made" do you think this is stronger than the rest of the Taboos? And it doesn't indicate if it has a solid or polished finish.

The Domination Nano would probably be around the same strength as the VG Nano. As for the dry lane conditions, the Track 300c is a very good and steady ball for me. if that doesn't work, i can make the Domination Nano work but i would have to move a couple of boards to the left.

Do you guys have any comments about the Cross Road replacing the Infinite Theory?

    I don't know.

It say's right in the ad in the link the finish is:
    800/1000/2000/3000 Abralon

I haven't thrown either the Crossroad, or the Vivid, or the Infinite Theory, but my teammate has both the Vivid and the Crossroad. He likes the vivid in the sport league on Mondays. On the typical house shot that we get on Thursdays, (I don't think its fresh oil, probably done 3-5 hrs before we bowl with some amount of open bowling on it) the crossroad works much better.

I agree that there is a percentage of balls that die out due to poor maintenance. My feeling is that if you were to keep your Vivid and/or Domination Nano (which is the overseas release of the VG Nano as fart as I can tell...) clean you will have little trouble. The cover stock for the Vivid is the NRG cover which I believe is probably the same as that on your Dom Nano, but the big difference is the weight block. I have thrown both balls and ended up with a Vivid as I like this ball better than the VG/Domination Nano. It seems to me to be more predictable than the VG/Dom Nano.

As for the Crossroad, it may not have the overall hooking ability of the Infinite Theory. At least mine does not - but I can tell you it is a fantastic ball. I literally took mine out of the box and threw a 299 with it. Consistency, forgiveness and power all in one ball...

I have never thrown a Defiant, but would really like to. Given the choice between a Defiant and the DV8 HRR, I would probably go with the DV8 HRR just so I could see for myself what all the fuss is about... I might also suggest that you try a Brunswick Nexxus f{P+R}. Though this ball also has a reputation of getting oil soaked, it loves to hook and it claws it wat through carried down oil like no ball I have ever thrown. I got my Nexxus in a give away here at Bowling Boards and I love that ball. I would sleep with it under my pillow if I could...
