Bad League Bowler, Good Tournament Bowler

Hey all, I think I just realized something tonight and I'm not sure if anyone can agree with me or feel the same way about this.

I bowl great in almost all my tournaments averaging 225+ but I struggle to shoot 200s most of the time during leagues.. I'm not sure what is is but my scores go way up whenever I'm bowling tournaments, while my summer league started tonight I shot a measly 585 with a 167 not sure what's going on or if there is a good way to change my league bowling for the better any suggestions??

I'm the same way.

I'm guessing its a mindset thing. When I bowl in tournaments I'm locked in, focusing on bowling my absolute best.

In leagues its more of a casual thing. I socialize, and am not paying as much attention to adjustments I need to make.

I do not have the same focus in league as you do in tournaments....

I bowl league just to stay loose during the week or to work on small parts of my game.
Plus it never hurts to win some side money during league.
I am a tournament bowler, its what I do. I bowl ok in league, but live for the tournaments on the weekend.
