Buddies Summer Challenge 7/10/23 (Week 6)
Pattern: Masters
Scores:
Set 1:124,184, 308 series
Set 2: Did not bowl
My friend Tim was back. The league manager had decided to bowl this week's sets first and do the make up games from last weeks disrupted second set at the end. Since both Tim and I were there we decided I would bowl the first set and Tim would finish the night. Once again I bowled just good enough to win one game

Buddies Summer Challenge 7/17/23 (Week 7)
Pattern: ??????
Scores:
Set 1:174, 142, 316 series
Set 2: 166, 167, 333 series
The pattern was supposed to be "Team Trials 4" but I heard a rumor that they screwed up and ran last weeks pattern again. I didn't throw any great numbers but won three of the games and took wood both sets.

Buddies Summer Challenge 7/31/23 (Week 9)
Pattern: Team Trials 4??????
Scores:
Set 1:145, 202, 347 series
Set 2: 176, 174, 350 series
Going by the schedule this week should have been the Team Trials 3 pattern. I think they announced last week that they had indeed run the Masters pattern week 7 so they adjust so each of the remaining patterns would get two weeks, or rather that we would get two weeks to figure out each of the remaining patterns.
The first set I lost the first set by 2 pins because I missed way too many easy spares Won the second game by more than 50 because my opponent (a teen aged two-handed lefty) still didn't have a good line and I put 5 strikes in a row
The second set I was up against the bowler who entered the night in first place. He struggled to find the line and I got out to a 20 pin lead and managed to mark just enough to stay ahead and win by 16. The second game he still couldn't figure out how to get more than a double. I kept making spares and the occasional strike to keep the game close. A missed ten pin in the 8th cost me the game but I held on to total wood.

This reminds me of the ole sport shot league I joined with Mike White and Bunny. Mad props though! That sport shot/challenge shot...I just felt mentally drained by the end. Not physically...but mentally.
Buddies Summer Challenge 8/14/23 (Week 11)
Pattern: Team Trials 3??????
Scores:
Set 1:164, 169, 333 series
Set 2: 172, 181, 353 series
The joy of bowling head to head singles with 4 bowlers to a pair; I lost to my opponent's 202 the first game, the other match was 151-150. The second set I lost to a kid that I used to coach who shot a 265 and a 202. the other match was the person in second place vs a blind score of 172. Would have taken 6 points from the blind and two points had I been bowling Chris.

Buddies Summer Challenge 8/28/23 (Week 13)
Pattern: Team Trials 6??????
Scores:
Set 1:113, 167, 280 series
Set 2: 203, 153, 356 series
Hadn't touched a bowling ball since 8/16, found out Sunday night my friend Tim was out of state and I wound have to bowl the last night of the summer session. I had to show up to help with the Juniors at 5:30, Challenge league is supposed to start at 8:00 on the same lanes as the kids had bowled on. The kids bowling on lanes 1-4 were slow finishing up. They could have started oiling at the other end and worked their way back but instead waited for the last kids to finish before starting the machine on lane one. Then someone realized that it was a double position round and the lane assignments were wrong for the first set. It was a very long evening and I was glad I manage to at least take a few points and bowl one decent game.

Went from a consistent night to an inconsistent one.
Taking even a short break from bowling can really throw ya off.
