Very interesting tidbit of information! A bad rack can really affect scores, but very few league bowlers take advantage of the rule that allows them to re-rack. Just last week, I bowled in a league where right-handed bowlers were constantly leaving a seven pin on the left lane. I noticed that the two pin was off spot. While I re-racked several times throughout the course of three games, it was always off... just more or less, each frame. Interestingly, the next day, on the same pair of lanes a lefty that I know shot 970 for four games (and he's just not that good). In this case, the off spot two pin was a detriment for right handers, and a great help for left handers! The bottom line is that bowlers should be aware of how the pins are spotted before each frame.
