A clean series doesn't come that often and is pretty challenging to do. With that said, if you have a clean series that low you're doing something wrong lol.
Which would be a bigger accomplishment for you:
1) A clean 540 series with strikes and a lot of 9/ spare conversions
2) 600 series with a lot of strikes but many opens and virtually no spare conversions
I'd go for 1

Is take the high series every time. It's not how, but instead how many.
Without a doubt I would take the 600 series. All that matters is how many pins you knock down.
I am a proud member of Bowlingboards.com bowling Forums and a ball contest winner.
I would be pretty disappointed with both actually because it would mean I was doing something wrong either way.
I wouldn't be happy with either!
The clean series every time. It's much easier to get some coaching to learn to throw more strikes. More serious issues like timing and not understanding what is going on with the lanes leads to missed spares and splits.
Assuming I'm in the pocket, clean series. Every time. It would be frustrating, though.
This is a choice between two evils.
A clean series sounds good, but if most of the non strikes are 9 counts, then to get down to 540, there must be some really stinker counts in there.
Likewise a 600 series with many opens is also a stinker.
All things being equal, 600 series is more productive to the team.
The 600 series for sure. The higher the score the more likely it is that you will win your point. I love clean games, but what difference does a clean game make if you lose?
