As far as animating it, I did do that and It looks good on the screen.
But the video output doesn't look that great, See the program doesn't output video files, so I have to make a video screen capture of the screen.
But the frame rate vs the spin of the ball makes it look jerky. So until I can work that out it will be a while till I have a video of it.

I believe you said somewhere you were using POVray to generate the images.
You can use POV in animate mode to create a sequence of images with a small amount of motion between each image.
Then use an application like ffmpeg to combine those images into a video file.

No movies, just a simple animation of the spinner. Just to do it.

Well got by the Pro shop and measured the revivor, I was pretty close! Here's a comparison of my model with the measurements.

No movies, just a simple animation of the spinner. Just to do it.
Very nice! Actually I do some 3D work as well sometimes, mostly logo designs and such :)
