As I posted in a previous thread I was on the DL for over two months after breast cancer surgery and prior to that was limited to one night a week of bowling. I've been back at it for a couple of weeks. I love it!! And, to be bowling with little or no pain is absolute heaven!!
I am going to try to keep this feeling going. Zen Bowling. So what if I miss a spare or two (or three or four,) or am not hitting my spot, or can't buy a strike. I'm out there on the lanes and having fun. That's what it's all about. (At least that's what I'm going to keep telling the competetive side of me.)
I bowled two games Friday night and it felt great! My scores were 166 and 169. I was hitting around the pocket a lot but was leaving mostly single pin spares so I got to practice my spares. I worked hard for the 166 and 169 but it was awesome. I feel like I'm on the verge of reaching the next level in scoring by really concentrating on picking up spares and having a "system" for it.
My husband had an off night so we went to the Asher/Baker Clinic on Saturday. I sat it out because I was feeling really good about my bowling and wanted my husband to have his time. I endend up speaking with a super nice bowler who generously shared loads of knowledge with me while my husband had a great clinic. My husband bought Mark's book and had him sign it to me. So sweet! I'm truly blessed!!
