Below is the Frantic that has returned to life!!

Short Backstory:
I was trying to pick up a single 4-7 leave last week during league play, very early in Game 1. I hit the gutter and the ball bounced out and up, hitting the top of the 7-pin, as it collided with the pinsetter. When I went to bowl the next frame, I noticed two very large "smashes" in the ball. I brought it to the front desk but figured it was toast…no way to fix such large and deep holes.

I then had my Slingshot drilled and practiced with it, expecting to use it this week for league. But, when I got to the lanes last night…the pro in the pro shop said it was done and in the league office. And I'll be DAMNED if it wasn't REPAIRED!!!

Kind've a bummer that I got the Slingshot drilled and practiced with it…then used the Frantic…because my lines were off and my spare shooting was abysmal. But it appears to roll just fine…nothing noticeable. I still plan to retire it in 3-4 weeks. But I am glad it's useable if for some reason I want to only "semi" retire it and start a little "mini arsenal" or even if I just want to have it for me or friends to use on occasion. AND…it gives me 2-3 more weeks of trying to get a 300-game with it before it gets retired!!

What in the world?

Are those two spots filled with clear?

That's scary looking! I would guess that anyone who sees it from a distance will be listening to hear the thumps as it goes down the lane. LOL

I'm guessing they drilled out the damaged area and filled it with clear because they didn't think they could match up the colors.

I would have liked to seen it before the fix. For the before and after look.

It's nice that they fixed it but they couldc have done a lot better job even if the color was a little off it would look better than that

Yes. Thats exactly right. He obviously ground out the holes, smoothed them out, filled them with clear, resurfaced, and polished.

It DOES look weird…from a distance it looks like there are 4 finger holes drilled in 2 different places. But if you saw it "before", he did a pretty damn good job. I honestly thought the damage was too deep for it to ever be repaired. The holes actually look smaller than what they did the night it happened. But its filled in and smoothed out and other than the "look" is in as good a condition as when I bought it new.

I have some pictures of it "before" it got damaged, but not at that angle.

After looking at the picture, I had to ask myself, would I bowl in California at this bowling center ? Choices are 1. accidents do happen and yes. 2. no and I am afraid for my equipment. 3. Aslan seems like a stand up guy, I would bowl with him at this center. Provided I won a bowling ball and was going onto Las Vegas for a comped vacation. 4. no no no, but I would like the bowling ball. 5. give your own answer, 20 word max. lol

I gotta admit, it wasn't the center's fault this time around. I mean, if you miss the 7-pin and hit the gutter hard…balls tend to do things not expected. Guarding a pin setter isn't really possible. You're not "supposed" to throw the ball in a way that hits the pinsetter.

It TAKES a REAL man to admit a mistake! Did you even hit the 7 pin??? LOL!!

Not legally. But yes. It bounced up and hit the top of the 7-pin and knocked it over.
