Ok back from the mountains and sketchy cell service. Got Aslan's emails. I have to contact Suncoast today or tomorrow I reckon. Getting close. Massive work to do between now and then.

Be there Mud,,, its You and me against the WORLD! Even Granny wants Aslan to win,,, they guy she use to not like, at all!!! I mean who DOES! I think she is just jealous of biker guys, and their ability to Clean HOUSE, with no training at ALL! Raw, Gifted, Talent, PURE and SIMPLE!!

I can't wait for US to take on Mike, and Aslan in teams... Surfers are NO challenge for BIKERS!!! As the world will soon see!!!

Aslan has been bowling a lot longer then ME,,, and is a hell of a lot younger, and he is the underdog?? !!

Again...that is completely untrue. I have been bowling since August 2013. Iceman is starting the clock when I walked in my first bowling alley to watch my father and uncle and grandfather bowl...so yeah, if you start the clock THEN....I guess I've been bowling for going on 36 years. But thats like starting the clock for how long you've been driving at the time you got strapped in a carseat on the way back from the hospital as a baby.

Why does Iceman strike me as the kind of guy that would have wild alien abduction stories in his past?? I don't know what it is...he just strikes me as the kind of guy that would have stories like that. I hope I get to hear a couple in Vegas!!

The only question I have is will there be any drinking during this so called tourney or what? Or is this a dry contest all serious and business like. I moon walk better after a few beers. And when I rip off a 6 bagger moonwalking is mandatory as Team Iceman-Mudpuppy charge toward victory.

I plan on buying Iceman a LOT of shots for his birthday since I figure if I get him drunk enough it may affect his ability to bowl and I will be victorius!!

But, I'm not sure about the lane rules, but it's a bowling alley, in a casino, in Vegas...so I doubt drinking is illegal. And the rules committee has made no restriction on alcohol consumption so have at it!!!

I have been to Area 51 with my wife a 8 years ago... ( This is no shirt,,, we both had 25 hours of missing time)! We visited the Litltle Alien Inn,, had a blast,,, YES I HAVE stories about the adventure! Where we had the missing time was at a old abandoned mining town up in the mountians, VERY hard to get too, but we had our 4 wheel drive!! Did some prospecting with my Garrett Metal detector! VERY interesting place!

Yes,,, drinking is ok with me! In fact lets make it a requirement!! Every strike a shot of Yukon Jack 100 proof! LOL Hopping to see that moon walk,,, I have been know to lay on my back and spin like a top, working my way into a handstand!!! After a half a bottle of the above mentioned!

OK here is the end product, with the new cargo carrier I mounted on the harbor freight trailer frame... SWEET,,,, Bike and trailer are READY!! Pulls like a dream,,, I forget its even back there!! Like the new back rest,,, very comfortable when I put my feet out on the pegs, and lean back!

Is it a motorcycle or a Honda Civic??

I guess as long as it keeps the bursitis at bay thats all that matters!

I wish granny was going to be there, with her little pom, pom's and cheerleading suit, to see this as you put it, OLD MAN that uses Ben Gay for deodorant, and Preparation H, for the heart break of butt PAIN, READ YOU THE RIOT ACT!!

I was going to go EASY on you,,, Have not even been posting my scores, but you have PUSHED ME TOO FAR,,, HERE is the Scores from todays senior bowling league. Nothing to brag about,, but JUST A TASTE of what's going to be waiting for you my little Liion man!!!! Guess what Aslan, Granny really don't like YOU, But she dislikes ICEMAN even MORE,,, because I am so damn naturally gifted in bowling!! She spends thousands going to coaching clinics, and camp outs with the pros!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!! Wait till you see the awesome power of ICEMAN on the Suncoast lanes!

What are we bowling for,,, what's the PRIZE!! Mud and Me are traveling a long ways to give you both a lesion! Maybe Rob would like to put up and appropriate Prize for the Single Winner, and the doubles

714 SERIES.. BUT THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!! grrrrrr!!!! GURRRRRRRRRRRR~~~

OK ASLAN MAKE FUN OF OLD PEOPLE<<< ICE can HANDLE THAT!!! BUT DON'T MAKE FUN OF MY BIKE!!!!!!!! THAT'S PUSING THE WRONG BUTTON!!!!

God I want to bowl on those lanes JUST ONCE!

I mean, I've been bowling on heavy oil and tournament conditions and sport patterns…trying to get myself ready for the lanes in Vegas…but maybe Ice has a better plan. Bowl no-tap on concave lanes against elderly people so you get a huge mental confidence boost!!

I've been approaching this all wrong!

But seriously, that IS a pretty good series. Definitely can't beat that if you're able to duplicate it in Vegas. "If"….."IF"…."BIG IF"….GIANT "IF"….enormously unlikely and almost stupid to even worry about "IF"…etc...

WHAT LANES???????????? I get so tired of you saying I bowl easy lanes!!!!!!!! This is a different alley Brundswick lanes... the other lanes were Amf, and Now Wood in Plattsburg!!!!

I think maybe its not the lanes Kitty Cat,,,, its the bowler!! LOL (:)

Nothing concave about the 3 different lanes I bowl on! I just might have THE GIFT!! Keep practicing,,,, wear your thumb to the bone, and you still, WON"T BEAT ICEMAN!!!

It doesn't matter the condition of the lanes to ICE,,,, I am COOL,,, I can adjust to any environment, or lane condition!

Quit throwing that lame excuse about LANES,,,,

What does Iceman have to do,,, bowl 4,,,5,,, 6 different house??? . AMF, Brunswick, and a mom and pop old wood lane is not enough to convince you of my Ice Cold, Cool ability to adjust to any and all lanes conditions?

YOU BAD MOUTHED MY BIKE!!! YOUR MINE NOW!!!!!! I WILL DEFEAT YOU BECAUSE YOU NEED TO BE PUT IN YOUR PLACE, after Beating MIKE WHITE,,, I think you bragged about beating him scratch if I remember correctly! Refresh my memory on that!

It's good that we meet at a natural Battle ground!!! I won't have to hear you complaining about home court advantage! I will be 66 that day!!
can you beat, an old un-coached, broken down Iron Worker???

Wear your best ARMOR,,,, ICE,,,, is READY!!!

My teammate today was none other then Pat Henderson! He just got another USBC award for Missouri Senior bowler of the year. That's for the whole state of Missouri,, ONLY ONE SENIOR GET'S that award each year. The home town of Pete Weber!

Huge Honnor, to go along with being in the Missouri Bowling Hall Of Fame! He had a couple 800 and several 300's this last year at the age of 59. He will be receiving this award at banquet this coming Sunday! Would love to be there, but I will be on my way to destroy you on neutral ground!!!

Don't bad mouth seniors, I know a bunch around here that have super averages....

Maybe before you take on sports patterns, you should learn to bowl the standard House Pattern! Maybe have a total body replacement too!!
I am tired of hearing the OLD PEOPLE TALK,,, I will show you that Old, is just a number,,, and that a gift lasts a lifetime!!

Do YOU have the GIFT Aslan!!!

MICHAEL

been thinking about getting a new ball for the Vegas thing!
The ONE I PICKED is

Awesome

Right out of the box, a 203, then a 233 after I found out it needs and WANT"S OIL!!
I can now play the FAR LEFT and shoot between 3rd, and 4th arrows. Its doing what that storm Byte did on that demo day last fall! Same big beautiful move to the pocket!

I will probably just bring two weapons, my deadly aim,

and this NEW Secret WEAPON!

ITS a Strike machine!!

What kind of lesion are you gonna give Aslan? Is that why you mentioned Preparation H?
He also confused "neutral" with "natural". He probably thinks the "S" on the screen means "strike" and the "X" means open which is how he ends up with such high scores!

My teammate today was none other then Pat Henderson! He just got another USBC award for Missouri Senior bowler of the year. That's for the whole state of Missouri,, ONLY ONE SENIOR GET'S that award each year.
That and $1.25 will get him a ride to the mall.

Huge Honnor, to go along with being in the Missouri Bowling Hall Of Fame! He had a couple 800 and several 300's this last year at the age of 59. He will be receiving this award at banquet this coming Sunday!
Yet he doesn't bowl in the Senior Masters? Hmm. Curious. Is he a felon and restricted to the state of Missouri? Does he wear one of those electronic monitoring bracelets?

Maybe before you take on sports patterns, you should learn to bowl the standard House Pattern!
Good advice. But I think I'll pass on the advice and just pray for the "gift".

MICHAEL

I knew that Pat, (The Beast), Henderson was already in the Missouri bowlers hall of fame, but the award he will be getting Sunday at an awards banquet is for being selected by the USBC, ( Senior Bowler of the year award). Only one male senior gets this each year.

I like to think that him bowling with ICEMAN had a lot to do with his success this year, but that would be without a doubt delusional , and JUST PLAIN WRONG!

It is a Cool Blast being on the same seniors league/team with him on Tuesdays! Watching a guy with his GIFT bowl, is COOL! So says ICE!

I wish I were able to attended the awards dinner, but I will be 3/4 of the way to Denver on my bike when it takes place. So far the weather is looking good, (knock on wood) for Sunday, 80 degrees and Sun!

Why is Iceman writing about Pat Henderson?

Because Aslan makes fun of HIM!! Pat is my bowling buddy!!! Don't mess with my Bikes, or Friends!

I will now DEFEAT YOU FOR numerous reasons!

1. FIRST making fun of my Bike

2. questioning the greatness of Pat Henderson, my friend

3. Making fun of people older then your juvenile age of what ever!!

4. Showing that coaching can ONLY TAKE YOU SO FAR, (without THE GIFT)

5. Your EVIL,,, and need to be taken down a few notches after your victory over Mike White, you brag WAY TOO much
my soon to be Kitty Cat! Yes Ice, will reduce you from being the lion king to a mere kitten, without
Ben-Gay, or Preparation-H, or even any illegal substances like One a Day multi Vitamins for Seniors over 50!
Yes ICEMAN may be over 50, as is Rob, but with age comes wisdom, so there is STILL HOPE FOR YOU! MAYBE!!

I have booked my rooms, I just hope its not next to YOURS,,, I would hate to hear you crying, all night after your lesion in bowling from Rob, and ICE!

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n550/melou-choute/gifs/cryingendofmylife.gif (http://media.photobucket.com/user/melou-choute/media/gifs/cryingendofmylife.gif.html)

If, (practice makes PERFECT) you should be invincible, Aslan

We shall see,,,, Two older distinguished Gentlemen Bowlers Class Acts vs Rif-Raff form some place called San Diego, who call themself's The Surfer Dudes!
We shall see, surfers who Hangs 10 on the lanes!! Aslan BAD MOUTHING SENIOR CITIZENS IS NOT SOMETHING Rob and Ice take lightly!

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo253/YIMAQWIN/Old-Man.gif (http://media.photobucket.com/user/YIMAQWIN/media/Old-Man.gif.html)

From what I understand, ARRP is doing an article on Aslan, and his disrespect for seniors NEXT MONTH,, 10/1/2014 issue! Look for it on News Stands everywhere!

Same format,,, singles and doubles

Teams will be

Aslan and Mike

Can youth conquer the Ben-Gay duel! Or will AGE, and Wisdom teach the disrespectful Aslan team a lesion!!!

Nooooooooooo!!!

Dang, I had him as 2nd least likely to drop out in the pool. Already losing money and I haven't even gotten to Vegas yet!!!

Well, our merry band of soldiers is now down to 4. But, since Mudpuppy agreed to the Challenge and THEN backed out...he technically finishes 5th in the stepladder finals and will forever be remembered in the Hall of Records and the absolute worst bowler of the 5 of us in the 1st Annual Aslan VS. Iceman Challenge.

Now...if I only wait long enough for the other 3 to back out...VICTORY!!!

However, with Mudpuppy out...we have an audio/visual dilemma. He was technically our video liason. I may have to try to clear some room from my memory cards and try to film as much of this as I can. Hate to miss out on the opportunity to film what is sure to be the event of our lifetime...probably the greatest event since Bethlehem if ya think about it. I shall ponder this...

My wife will bel there, (my soon to be reduced to a kitty cat!) She will bring her camera that does very decent video! That way you can focus on your task at hand! She can film a lot of it, but I am sure she won't get up close, and ask the kind of questions I would, if I had the camera, or YOU!

If you bring yours, that's cool 2!!

We will work it out,,, just don't BACK OUT!!

This is still going to be Cool,,,, Mike and Rob,,, mortal enemies, Each thinking they know more then the other!

You Aslan,,, a student of the art form of bowling, a guy that not only does a lot of research on bowling, but is working on his Bronze Level Coaching certificate in secret!! I hear you doing it so that you can meet chicks, IN PERSON, instead of using that 1 800-talk-dirty number!

ICEMAN, what can I say about myself, that I haven't said already!!!??? Unlike you Aslan, I am a GIVER, not a taker. I help kids in need, and feed the poor here in town! I have been know to take my cloths off when I see a woman in need! In need of cloths to protect her body against the elements,, Fire, Water, and ICE!!
The Big Bucks that I am bring for the winner is money I have had for some time, and needs to be put to a good use.

1000.00 Big Bucks to the winner of the singles

500 Each to the team winners! After Rob and Ice win the team event, I will donate my Big bucks to the (HELP ASLAN FIND A WOMAN, NOT OF THE MANLY KIND), charity!

1500 more push ups, and to bed. ICEMAN will be READY!!

MUDPUPPY,,, Rob and Ice will dedicate this soon to be victory to YOU! Maybe next time bud!

The Senior Citizens are dancing everywhere,, knowing that ROB and ICE will be victorious!!

Yes when it rains it pours and it's a hurricane here man. I'll explain over a beer when we plan a spring vegas trip. I should have things under control or to a slow simmer by then. Right now I have to man the fox hole and try to fight my way out of this. I was going to just do vegas anyways since I have the flight booked but it would cause me even more issues.

Not to be morbid, but you HAVE considered that this is likely Iceman's "last trip" right? Thats why I've tried SO hard to get this thing done NOW. I've seen how this goes. And I'm not talking about Rob here...because Rob is still mentally and physically at his peak. But with Iceman...that "mind" has kinda been fluttering like a flourescent light bulb for quite some time...he still keeps asking about me getting "lesions" constantly...he once had an entire post dedicated to "him vs himself" where I think he just had a constant schizophrenic episode of some kind...I'm justs saying...he's a light breeze away from the neighbors calling his wife complaining that he's out in the street in his bath robe again yelling at the cars that drive by.

But don't worry man...I'll still be alive and kicking for at least a couple more years. I won't die until I'm 42 so I got a couple more events in me.

To Mudpuppy and any board members,
I just returned from 2 weeks in Las Vegas. My trips are for pleasure and not hauling bowling equipment over 2000 miles. My next trip to Vegas, already approved by the fun governor, will be Feb 2015. I like the part about adult beverages and meeting people from this site. :)

But don't worry man...I'll still be alive and kicking for at least a couple more years. I won't die until I'm 42 so I got a couple more events in me.

The only fluttering that will be going on is your bowling! As far as your lesions,,, please,,, PLEASE see a doctor before showing up to bowl! At least put some duct tape on them!

As for my past posts, I had no idea that you were a student of my threads! You flatter me!! I can give you some of my DNA, that I sell in small containers called, "The Gift" after Rob wastes his time filling your head with stuff that,,,,,, That with your spaz-o-physiology, will never get you anywhere.

This WHOLE meeting will not be just about BOWLING,,, It will be about RESPECT,,, and ICEMAN teaching you to clean up you act!

You kid and make fun of your elders,,, I WILL PUT A STOP to that, by beating the hell out of you on the LANES!! You have NO IDEA how many private messages
Ice gets from elder bowlers, saying how upset they are with your flagrante, disregard to their feelings!! Some even are now seeing a shrink do to your
disrespect!! YOU NEED THIS lesson in humility!

Its one thing to be Evil,,, its another to not even care! All you older senior Citizens out there, ICE will,,,,, with God's help put this Evil bowler where the Sun don't
shine at Suncoast Hotel in Sin City!! ( God as my Witness) This Lion man will GO DOWN, never more to bad mouth the elderly again!

You not not hear form me for some time, after tonight, maybe never! Who knows,,, it a long and very dangerous trip on bike, hit a deer once back in 1987, in Colorado.

If all goes as planed I will land in Vegas Tuesday, the 23rd! Then give Rob a call see if he wants to go out and get drunk before bowling Aslan, and his buddy Mike White.

It should be a LOT of fun, all kidding aside, looking forward to meeting everyone, even Aslan/John!!

I have the Prize Money, Big Bucksthat will be awarded to the winners! We will take pictures, and film a bunch of the bowling, and award presentations, for individual first place, and team First Place,,, No second place,,,, WINNERS TAKE ALL!!

Time to hit the sack,,, should something happen,,, UFO,,, or even something more down to earth, deer, or black bear,,, I have Rob's and Aslan's phone numbers!

Me and Icewoman will be leaving early in the morning,,, headed out across Kansas,,,, then Denver first stop for the night.

If I don't make it,,,, IT'S been fun guys and gals!!!

More like how you slow down when passing a bad car accident…or when the gorillas at the zoo throw poo at each other…but, okay.

This WHOLE meeting will not be just about BOWLING,,, It will be about RESPECT,,, and ICEMAN teaching you to clean up you act!
I like to think of it as a wake-up call to Iceman. I don't want him to do so badly that he quits the sport. But in the short time he has left on this Earth, I want to do my part to inspire him to improve his game and really challenge himself. Not just bowl with his oddballs in KC and wait for Missouri to put him in the Hall of Fame. I want to see Iceman really improve his game, and really challenge himself. Stop relating on some imaginary "gift" and really get the most out of these golden years!! Maybe even join Aslan at a USBC Open as a TEAMMATE!!! Can you imagine!!!!?

Ice gets from elder bowlers, saying how upset they are with your flagrante, disregard to their feelings!! Some even are now seeing a shrink do to your
disrespect!! YOU NEED THIS lesson in humility!
All I gotta say to that (besides inserting a fart noise made with my hand/mouth)…is…and I only say this because I've heard this kinda thing a few times in the past few years and it's sort of a pet peeve…is to ANYONE that would take issue with me…for ANY reason…yet not have the stones to confront me openly or even PM me directly…thats just being a coward. Don't PM Bowl1820 or Iceman…I'm RIGHT HERE!! I promise I'll read whatever grievance you have, try to keep an open mind, and respond. There's no place in bowling for cowards is what I SAY!!!

NEWS FLASH

First…the use of the terminology; "NEWS FLASH"…saying "NEWS FLASH"…and then saying you're endorsed by the AARP isn't really a "NEWS FLASH". Wait…so IceMAN is showing up to Vegas with '3 balls'???????

And…just doing the math here…2 of them are bowling oriented….I'm gonna just leave this one alone since this is a family site and all… :roll eyes:

TWO days IceQueen!! Don't get that space ship looking tricycle of your's smashed up in any accidents. Don't want to hurt the innocent passenger Mrs. Iceman. I'm sure as your spouse, she's taken a beating already (mentally speaking of course). And I also don't want any EXCUSES!! I want Iceman in ONE PIECE to show up for the beating at Suncoast…or as I call it, "his first lesson"….or as he calls it…"his first lesion". I don't want to hear that his wrist is sore or he has arthritis or a headache or acne or a twisted ankle. I want him delivered in as peak condition as POSSIBLE so he has NO EXCUSES other than just NOT being up to snuff.

I WIIL BE THERE Mr. ICEMAN. Even if Rob gets busy and Mike decides the idea is dumb…I WILL BE THERE. The epic battle of good vs. evil is about to happen!!! The question is, "Who is 'Good' and who is 'evil'?" I had a poster made up to celebrate the occasion and told the artist to make both characters (Iceman and Aslan) as 'heroes'…not one a bad guy and one a good guy. That way, we leave it up to the audience to decide…who is the protagonist? Who is the antagonist?

ONLY 2.5 DAYS LEFT!!!!! STILL NO CALLS FROM LOCAL REPORTERS OR NATIONAL SPORTS COVERAGE!! But I imagine we can only fly under the radar for so long.

One more practice session left tomorrow after work. Then Tuesday, get home from work and try to get 6-7 hours sleep…and off to Vegas!!!

ENDORSEMENTS JUST IN!!!

Aslan is now endorsed by:

George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Jesus Christ

Just got off the phone with Jesus...he wished me luck (but told me I wouldn't need it). In return I do have to remember to pray for Iceman's safety on the trip and pray for his happiness before and after the tournament. Jimmy C. didn't call me direct...he had an aide send me a written endorsement. And me and ole Geroge HW (the good George Bush) talked for about 45 minutes about bowling and politics and just life in general. I asked him if I win could I perhaps have his blessing to marry his grand-daughter Jenna which he found quite amusing. I was sort of serious, but, whatever. Finally he said if I supported Jeb's presidential run in 2016 he'd see what he could do about the "Jenna thing". He's quite the card I tell ya!

GREAT NEWS!!!

Except for the 'minor' detail that I spent like an hour this morning making a cool, unique qualifying round standings poster WITHOUT you on it!!! Looks like somebody will be stopping at Staples for another custom poster board and spending 1.5 hours creating an even BETTER score summary poster.

It's okay. Despite doing calculations and checking my math 2-3 times I ended up scaling it wrong so this gives me an excuse to start over.

Thats gross. No bleeding on the approach. It's bad enough that Ice-billy will be marking it up with his sandals. USBC rules CLEARLY prohibit the adding of foreign material to the approach area...and that includes blood from your liver!

Unfortunately internet access is expensive so he may not be checking in.

ROB AND MUDPUPPY...Mr. Iceman wanted to call you and can't find your cell phone numbers and for some reason I never added Rob into my contact list so you both should have his number; give him a call if you have a chance.

He's old so he probably goes to bed about 6PM but ya might catch him!!

Good to see everyone was following along!!

Thanks to Mudpuppy for keeping the Twitter universe up to date!! Mud will have some interesting video as well of the qualifying round and parts of the doubles match.

I will have full coverage of the stepladder finals once I get home and have a chance to get it from my camera to my computer and do the necessary editing and posting to Youtube.

So, lets give a quick summary from the "Aslan Camp" now that this little shindig is in the books.

First Impressions:

I've already met Rob M. and MWhite so they were what I thought they were (Dennis Green). It was nice to see MWhite put his skills on display for a change rather than just poo the bed as he has in past matches against me. When he was "on", he was impressive. And it was great to see Rob excited about the contest. On more than one occasion he mentioned how much fun he was having. I wasn't sure if he would….and the more fun he had the better he did…and the better he did….the more fun he had…so it was feeding a MONSTER! As Iceman nicknamed him, he was THE BEAST on the lanes this afternoon!!

Mudpuppy was smaller and younger than I had imagined. I can't believe the guy is practically my age…he's aged much better!! And Iceman, well…he was sort of what I expected while at the same time surprisingly different:

He's taller than I imagined. I pictured a short, stocky, weightlifter type. But he's rather slender and as tall if not taller than me (and I'm fairly tall). And while he's certainly "quirky"…he's not nearly as "off his meds crazy" as he appears in some of his posts. He's actually one of the nicest guys I've ever met to be honest. He's just as "wordy" in person as he is in his posts!!! MWhite is a chatterbox…but let me tell you…MWhite couldn't get a word in edgewise with Iceman around!

For those wondering, no…Rob M and MWhite didn't get in a shouting match or wrestle each other. Two professionals with strong opinions…but professionals. And no, Ice and I didn't fight or arm wrestle or throw spit wads at each other…we became friends pretty quick.

There really were no "losers" in this event and that was probably my 2nd favorite thing about it.

Mudpuppy: Mudpuppy absolutely DOMINATED Qualifying Round. I mean, he rolled a 227 and a 248 out of the gate and the guy just didn't miss. I don't think he missed more than ONE make-able spare the entire qualifying round. He looked absolutely unbeatable. And as a lefty, he had that side to himself.

Iceman: Obviously Iceman won the challenge! My avatar will be changed when he sends me his selection. He finished 4th and me 5th…but he was heads and tails above me….scoring 124 more pins in qualifying and "nearly" knocking off Rob M in Game 2 of the Finals. And "HAD" he; I think he would have beat MWhite and Mudpuppy and won the entire thing. His match with Rob M was the most competitive and both of them scored over 220.

Rob M.: Rob was a BIG winner because he not only WON the entire stepladder final…but did it with the 4th worst incoming average and starting at #4 on the stepladder. AND….he's nearly 66! Rob made an interesting point that HAD he beat Iceman and finished #3…he might not have done as well because he'd have had to sit out a game and "cool off" and "stiffen up". But this was a BIG win for Rob. Probably my FAVORITE moment/thing about the Challenge was watching Rob win. I DID pick him…but he didn't win because of the experience and being local like I predicted…he just out bowled whoever he faced. And I think he was impressed with his own performance.

MWHITE: Mwhite was a big winner as well because he finished #2 in the stepladder, ended up #3 in the standings…but he finally got the "Aslan Jinx Monkey" off his back. He wasn't bowling on strange conditions or beat up ole wood lanes…so he was able to showcase his ability on a better playing field. AND…the Surfers SMOKED the BIKERS in the doubles match!!

Aslan: My only real "victory" was helping Surfers defeat the Bikers in doubles. I made intermittent good shots…I sometimes looked good spare shooting…but at the end of the day I'm a high 160s average bowler with 1 year of experience bowling and my game still needs a LOT of work to compete scratch with these guys. Even with handicap, I'd have been the #5 seed and lost to Iceman in Game #1. Rob would have been the #3 seed with handicap. But Iceman put up 224 pins in his Finals match and Rob put up a tournament high 254 in his first finals game and followed that up with a 227!!

DOUBLES SCORES:
Format: Scotch doubles

Game #1: Bikers 212, Surfers 194.
Game #2: Surfers 170, Bikers 159.
Game #3: Surfers 236, Bikers 198.

Surfers DEFEAT Bikers = 600-569

Since you were a HUGE part of what kicked the Bikers butt's in the team section of the tournament, you deserve a noble avatar! This is your new one for 6 months!! I expect to see it up and running soon!

Pics would be nice........ :D
I'll show ya mine....

...I mean, yeah, pics/video will be up soon...it was a LONG 5 days and my bowling 63 games in 6 days isn't quite over until after practice tonight. Then I gotta get caught up on some bills and THEN try to upload the stepladder finals to YouTube.

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for putting this on. I've had a lot of fun just watching this from the sidelines. Can wait to see some of the video.
Yes, a good time was had by all. And oddly enough, not ONE call from any of the big networks to discuss coverage of the next tournament! Perhaps they're in a bidding war.

Well, I certainly will abide...but unfortunately I can't see it because my work computer blocks photobucket. But I will try to download it to my home computer soon and hopefully access it that way.

Yeah, I spent the last friggin 30 minutes trying to get the dang thing adjusted and this is the close I can get it. I might have better luck with my home computer. I thought you could resize it and specify the file size but using my work computer it just kept adjusting it too small and then not letting me increase it so I'd have to start all over. Add to that our work internet is obscenely slow and has been the last few weeks...it's been frustrating. Now at least it's 1/5 normal size which I guess is better than the initial attempts.

Not only is Rob a great coach, he is a giver also! He gave Iceman his Deadly Aim ball. Looks almost new, just need to get it plugged and re drilled.
It will be fun to experiment with a new layout. Rob also gave Aslan, and Ice a lesson the day before we left for home.

Rob didn't like the Deadly Aim at all! Maybe Ice can make it work! Will keep you updated on the ball performance after I get it fitted and drilled!
Iceman likes Deadly Aim!!

I have several pictures, and will be posting some soon.

Rob and Ice both thought Aslan, looks a hell of a lot like Peter Sellers, ( the movie actor)! May he RIP!!

I do want to experiment with a different layout, will be COOl!!!! Will two Deadly Aims, double my pleasure,,, double my FUN???

Reviewing the video footage now while I record my practice scores from tonight. I'll probably have to do a tiny bit of editing to take out some of the lapses in action…but hopefully we'll have some entertaining footage up for the masses relatively soon….this weekend at the latest.

Back in Michigan finally. Spent a few more days in Vegas donating to the various casinos on the strip and downtown.

It was probably the best time I've ever had bowling. Great to meet everyone. Rob was a deserving champion and being the great guy he is he even paid for dinner. I never had so much fun losing. It didn't even matter the outcome to me. I didn't even need to drink copious amounts of alcohol to have fun. Tons of video. Trying to play catch up at work. Will be ~1-2 weeks before I can sift through it. Definitely looking forward to the next time. I hope even more people can join. And I think it's totally awesome that you were following on twitter. Trying to post on here on a cell phone is impossible - Mrs. Iceman asked me if I could get on here on my phone and I said I don't even bother. Cell service at the Suncoast is sketchy to begin with. Once I got to the strip on Thursday it was 4G all day everyday. Suncoast is pretty nice though even though it's 20 minutes from the strip. Great choice Rob and awesome suite they gave me. Oh and the pre-tourney hardcore shuffleboard with Iceman was awesome and a key to my success to qualifying 1st, lol. I still laugh I bowled a 666 - fitting. I have been called the antichrist.

Iceman - where is the picture of everyone that Mrs. Iceman took? Really want to see that.

YES,, was ONE Hell of a blast, Anti, Bowler,(666)! You were a Beast on the side of the alley we started out! Who knows what might have happened if they hadn't moved us to NEW LANES do to leagues! We might have won the damn team event!!! Those new lanes were suited to Surfer Dudes for sure!! I swear I saw MIKE WHITE slip the guy at the desk a 50 dollar bill, and pointing in the direction they moved us minutes later!!!!! I AM NOT SAYING IT WAS a underhanded move in order to cool our team off, but then it WORKED!!!

Yes that was a blast doing the shuffle board game prior to our bowling! Iceman likes shuffle board, another game I just might have the GIFT for!! LOL

I am slowly getting everything unloaded, and in its proper place. pictures will be up in the very near future, need to convert the files so that I can post them.

1400 miles each way,,, crazy weather,,, on the New Bike! Only problem I had was the lights on the trailer went out 3/4 of the way back home. Also the brakes lights on the bike stopped working, even when not attached to trailer!

More to come soon... I don't think I have ever met a better group of guys to bowl with!!! It was like dying and going to heaven,,, wait,,,, that can't happen,,, mud is the antichrist!! Maybe there is room for everyone with this forgiving, loving deity! I have it from a PRETTY reliable source that ALL the GODS love to bowl, and appreciate bowling with good human forms!

MORE to COME!

Awesome. Thanks Iceman. Not judging dudes or anything but the hot ladies at the bar that tried to pick up Aslan and I said that for the picture to put the best looking dudes in the middle - mission accomplished. I have to add Aslan is a bit of an electronic terrorist - as am I - and likes to talk a little smack on here but really in person he's just a great guy and a pleasure to hang around and talk to. And the poster work, etc. was epic. The birthday cake was a big bonus as well. Well done in all your hard work Aslan. And to answer everyone's question what part of Asia is he from? THE GOOD PART

Ha,,,so,,, I knew Aslan was from Asia, its amazing what the plastic surgeons did to transform his appearance from "Bowl-Low", (his original oriental name to, a Peter Sellers look alike!!

We might add shuffle board to the Event along with the bowling!! That was a blast!!

Wait...what?? Where was I? Danngit! The whole trip to Vegas and Laughlin and I couldn't find more than like 4 women "in my wheelhouse". Laughlin is HORRIBLE. That place is like a resort for the people from "The Hills Have Eyes". Don't google it. The hottest chick I saw was outside Vegas in a Wal Mart buying lingerie...but she had to be like 19-21...so forget that. In fairness, I probably coulda had a shot with a hot gal in Laughlin that I saw in the nightclub. I coulda prominently displayed my dancing skills and impressed the beejesus out of her...but she was there with her "ugly friend" and I have never quite grasped how to approach an attractive lady when she's being guarded by the "ugly friend". It's a weird social dynamic.

Well, lets not get too complimentary. I HAVE been told that in person I'm not nearly as terrible as on the "interweb"...but believe me, there are opinions on the other side of that arguement where people will say that once you get to know me...I'm more like the internet Aslan than first impressions will allow for.

Wife wants to add women bowlers to our Event next year! That would be COOL.... Ice!
Women shouldn't even be allowed in the bowling alley much less allowed in such a prestigious tournament!!! Whats next!? Property rights? Voting Rights? Equal pay?? It's a hippie concept that we should just put to rest before it spreads.

E.T.A.- I reserve the right to alter that opinion...should the bowlers be Danielle McEwan or Diana Zavjalova...AND they are single and looking to party... Also, standard disclaimer that said comments obviously don't apply to classygranny...shes tres awesome in every way and would certainly be welcome at any event.

But speaking of Mrs. Iceman...you had asked if there was a show you should take her to that Rob might recommend. And I totally drew a blank....BUT...on the way out of town saw a billboard and remembered...THUNDER DOWN UNDER!!! The ladies in my old Friday league SWEAR BY IT...and I'd have even PAID for it just to get a picture of Iceman stageside for THAT show. Oh well; next time.

thanks again for the birthday cake, Aslan!!!
No prob. I wasn't impressed with the decoration...I'll probably try a better bakery next time. But it tasted MARVELOUS!! Mike and Rob didn't partake so I decided to eat their pieces!

But the real thanks go out to Mr. Rob M. He actually has the busiest schedule of all of us...yet still took time to arrange all this with Suncoast...bought us dinner (which he certainly didn't have to do)...and gave me and Iceman a free group lesson the next day...which he again, didn't need to do. Why didn't he give a lesson to MWhite and Mudpuppy?? Well, MWhite unfortunately had to go back to California right after the event...and neither MWhite nor Mudpuppy NEED lessons. AND..he gave Iceman a free ball!!! It was like a bowling camp that only cost $14!! I had my eye on the Mastermind Intellect and Brunswick Brute that Rob was throwing...but he wasn't giving those away. : (

Havent heard from MWhite since the event...hopefully he survived the trip back. He wasn't at leagues on Sunday morning...but I think he posted on here so he's probably okay. I can't lose the ACE of my Sport Pattern team!!! Especially now that we got a third bowler!!! I think he's just afraid of the PBA CHEETAH!! A pattern THAT short with HIS rev rate!?? He's liable to throw the ball onto the lane left of us!!!

But, Rob is the BIG WINNER...thus I think to the winner go the spoils...and the next event, is up to him in terms of time and place. I think waiting about 1-2 years...but planning it WAY ahead will be most likely to get us the most participants. Also give the media time to catch up!!! I don't think they can ignore us twice!! I need to get myself some individual sponsors by then....Brunswick seems to still be "on the fence"...but maybe I can aim lower...get sponsored by "Hai Karate" or "Steve's Hog Farm" or a strip club or one of those mexicans that sells avocado's at the intersection.

I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!! That Deadly Aim that he hated, only cost me 24 bucks to have it work for ME!! He drilled out the slug, and put the Vise system in, plus two new finger hole, his inserts were too tight, but the span was FRICKEN PERFECT,,, the driller gave me the ball during league, and Ice threw a 224!! I am going to love this new used ball that Rob gave Iceaman! It breaks a little sooner then my other Deadly Aim,,, LOVE IT!!

Can't wait to use it in a 3 game series... NO PROBLEM with the ten pin using it, just like my other deadly aim!

The driller did say the fingers had a different pitch, but should work fine! FINE is an understatement,, love the look of this ball.

Thanks again Champ!!! ROB...

And remember boys and girls,, the title of this thread is:

Aslan vs Iceman!

The old ICEMAN went to Vegas, and got the job done, after riding my bike over 1400 miles threw wind, rain, and wild animals in the mountains!!

THIS NEEDS to happen again maybe next Spring, or Early Fall!!

Aslan deserves a second shot at ICEMAN!! I now have Rob on my Radar screen! Would be WILD TO BEAT THE Champ, with his own ball!!!! LOL

Sorry ole pup...but in addition to not dating dudes (unless they're very, very wealthy)...I have a standard 2-kid limit on future Mrs. Right....3-kid limit if she's ultra hot and/or wealthy. And given you have like 7-8 kids...gonna have to pass on that. I don't want to have to come home one day and find that they all got together and watched Children of the Corn and have gotten any bright ideas. Not to mention, sending 3 kids to college with today's tuition rates...I mean, thats probably 1 million dollars in tuition. Nope.

I know it is early but I am putting my money on the Bikers to win next year!

That would be a GOOD BET!! Remember it was Scotch Doubles,,,, that format SUCKS!! Who knows what would have happened if we just bowled and added our scores ,,,,,Aslan,,, was not getting strikes, but for SOME STRANGE REASON, picking up all the trash Mike left him! I mean he didn't miss a spare,,, Scotch Doubles format is for grade school kids,,,, NOT ADULTS!

It was a BAD IDEA,,, BUT a very strategic MOVE on Aslans part! He knew with his lack of strikes, but dead on spare making ability they would have the advantage.

Mud was HOT on the lanes we started on, (in regards to strikes!!), but when we had to change lanes, strikes went south, and several splits, that Iceman, or EVEN SUPERMAN could not pick up!!

Soctch Doulbes suck, unless your from Scotland!!!

Next year its going to be add the scores from each side,,, NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO SHOOT someone else's trash left behind, Not Mudpuppy, Not Iceman!

Aslan seems go love doing clean up for his partner!!!! There is something just PLAIN WRONG with Aslan,,, he seems to derive some kink of SICK pleasure picking up spares, regardless of the degree of difficulty. If he ever gets where he can throw a series of strikes, I fear he might be a hand full!

Next year, it will be scratch bowling, the REAL DEAL,,, none of that Scottish bull shirt!!!! It played right into the surfer, hang 10 B.S.!!! Mudpuppy and Iceman were way to merciful!!

Again,,,, kudos,,,, to ROB!!! You were magnificent.... coming from the bottom,,, getting past me, 227,,, needing 3 strikes in the tenth to do it! beating my 224!

ICEMAN could have been a WINNER,,,,, but you had to throw those 3 strikes in the tenth to beat me!!!

NEXT Year,,,, ROB,,,,,,, keep up,,,,, ICEMAN wants his revenge!!

Our first game, it was practice:

OK,,, how did ICEMAN do on his 66th birthday, after driving a motorcycle 1400 miles to Vegas:

One practice game for all of us... Ice had 226, then 3 games 197, 179, 222, and 224 against Rob,,,, for a total of 1048, average 210!!
Not bad for a worn out, burnt up X Iron Worker!

NEXT YEAR ..... I am counting the FRICKEN DAYS!!!! Revenge,,, of the Biker's!!! NO MORE Scottish doubles B.S.!!

Aslan
10-01-2014, 12:18 AM
First…the "scotch doubles" idea was NOT mine.

Second…it was a plan by Mudpuppy and Iceman to defeat MWhite and I since they had a HUGE advantage given that Ice was a righty and Puppy a lefty. Think about it…Pup leaves a 7-pin…thats easy for Ice to pick up. Ice leaves a 10-pin…easy for Pup to pick up. But, despite it being THEIR idea and they having a HUGE advantage…they underestimated Mike's ability to strike and my ability to pick up spares. I practice shooting spares about 27 times a night during league play (since I can't strike).

Third…the cake was supposed to be a "photo cake". But I didn't want to eat a cake with Iceman's picture on it…so I changed it to a big bowling ball over top where the picture would be…but the bowling ball wasn't dark enough to cover it up.

taking applications to be on OUR team for the Next HUGE Rumble in Vegas!! The screening process is now open if you think your GOOD ENOUGH!
Surfer Dudes, and mental types need NOT APPLY!

Only hard Core Real Bikers need apply! Background checks will be done, by Hell's Angles! If you are a Biker, and think you have what it takes to be on the Bikers team, apply NOW! Its never to early to get this bad *** team together!

One requirement next year... ALL bikers need to ride their bikes out to Vegas, like Iceman! Bring a chick if you like on the back,,, she can hold your fricken balls!! Makes the trip that much less stressful if its a long journey, like it was for ICE! 1400 miles each way!

If you think you got what it takes,,, sign in below,,, a Hell's Angle will be sent to your place, and he will decide if you, GOT WHAT IT TAKES!!

Iceman it's ok you can say I completely SUCKED in scotch doubles. I did. It's a fact. I screwed you on several unmakeable splits. Made poor adjustments. NO you didn't SUCK,,, it was the lane change that Mike White got for 50 bucks! I saw him slip the cashier a 50, and Mike not knowing I can READ LIPS, he said, do it NOW,,,,,,,, say it has something to do with leagues...!

Being that Mike White was bowling great on the first pair of lanes and shot 150 after moving to the fresh, I seriously doubt that he slipped anybody anything to move. Personally, after shooting 254-227 on the first pair, I'm sorry I didn't think to slip someone $50 for us NOT to move. While I was able to hold on to win, my 192-190 certainly brings into question bowlers' obsession with fresh oil. Often the lanes get much easier after the oil calms down and the lanes open up.

Often the lanes get much easier after the oil calms down and the lanes open up.

was it the oil, or the lanes themselves? My first practice game on the fresh oil was 226,,, Mudpuppy on fresh oil was kicking ask? So many variables,,, maybe it was oil,,,, maybe the lanes themselves,,, who knows,,,, I just know that scores went SOUTH after the change! WHO KNOWS what might have happened if we stayed on the original pair!

ONE THING FOR SURE, YOU ARE THE CHAMP!! All Glory is YOURS, guy that is only 6 months younger then ICE!

With that Free lesson you gave me,,,, GET READY,,,, ICE IS coming back!! YOU are now on my radar screen, and locked in. Can you repeat??
We shall see!! (:)

Who knows how many just might show up for our next MEETING!!

I had a DREAM last night that hundreds came to our next bowl off! Also in that dream Aslan, was bowling on HIGH LEVEL!! Do in part to the knowledge you imparted to him.

Can the STUDENT, beat the MASTER????

We shall see,,,,, WE SHALL SEE!!

It was the oil. I struck repeatedly on the first few shots, and then the oil went squirrely. In the second game, the same thing happened on the left to Mudpuppy. With the type of shot that Mike White throws, the screaming back ends killed him right away. This is typical in league there. I usually strike at will during practice and then shoot a buck sixty the first game. It's not until the third game in league that I usually have a decent shot.

MAYBE it WAS.... MAYBE it wasn't

OR

maybe it WASN'T maybe it WAS!!

Lets just say that unlike the start on the first pair of lanes, that were hot right off the start! The second pair of fresh lanes were very different, and everyone seemed to have problems! EVEN YOU BOWLING GOD,,,, Rob!!! I have to say, Aslan didn't seem to have any problems with his spares on the new lanes??? (:?) Maybe he was throwing plastic!!

Rob,,, what do you think would happen with the Deadly Aim if I took the polish off? Would it burn up too fast? I was thinking about doing a refresh on my Deadly aim,,, going 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000! NO POLISH,,, Your thoughts? I am going to leave yours the way it is, after using it Tuesdays afternoon and having that 224 games.

One thing I have noticed is that matte balls/solid balls absorb a heck of a lot more oil from the lanes. I use a spinner after I get home from bowling to clean the balls with simply green, and alcohol HUGE difference on the rag! Much more oil comes out of the non-polished balls! So I would expect the life expectancy would be much shorter, and thus need to be de-oiled much sooner, then a polished ball. (by life expectancy, I mean reach that point of going limp on the lanes due to oil)

it was the lane change that Mike White got for 50 bucks! I saw him slip the cashier a 50,

Where did Mike get $50?? And why would he want a lane change when he pretty much crushed the field in qualifying?? He probably wanted a "teammate" change after seeing Rob trounce everyone and watchng me struggle to break 160. And I wouldn't blame him for that!

more importantly just set a date for the next tourney. talk is cheap. meeting up and bowling is much more fun.

Also I forgot to mention in all my posts to entertain the sewing circle - Rob was a complete beast after a slow start. Once he got rolling there was no stopping him.

YOUR RIGHT ON MUD!!!! I think everyone said that it was a BLAST!!! We need to come up with a good date,,, spring? summer? next fall ??

My vote would be for around late May to early June! BANK ON ICEMAN BEING THERE!! Bone up mud on your shuffle board,,, LOL!!

ROB WAS, and is an ANIMAL!!! The BEAST of Vegas!! Can he repeat next time,,,, can Aslan Beat Iceman,,,,, Which team will win next time,,,, who will be the champ of shuffle board,,,,, Can anyone BEAT ROB, with his incredible bowling knowledge, and ability to adjust enough to get the job done?

So many unanswered questions, that only another CLASH of Titans can reveal!!! NO ONE HAS EVER REPEATED, AND WON THIS EVENT TWICE!!!

Try going directly from 500 heavy pressure on 4 sides for 30 seconds each, to 3000 on 4 sides with light pressure for 10 seconds each, and see what happens.

will do! Will also let you know how it turns out! I am not going to change anything with the ball you gave me,,, it has a sweet move toward the pocket as is!

Very different then my deadly aim.... I can't get over how your ( layout/drilling), works for ICE! 24 fricking bucks, to simple drill out your thumb plug, and install the vise system insert, and two larger finger inserts! We might be related??? I mean our hands match up, only difference being mine are much thicker, and manlier!

Anytime you want to Give YOUR NEW Best Friend another ball, I will pay for shipping in advance if its a ball I might be interested in... LOL
THANKS AGAIN Champ!!

important notice:

Never give a ball away to deserving child, without first sending it to ICEMAN, it could be a BOOM!! Send to Iceman, in care of: North Pole, 000 , Sub-Zero Main Street, Freezeurask Off North Pole. 00000!

Upon inspecting the used ball, and using it for a couple months, I will then give it to some brat in need of something round, that rolls, to keep him/her out of trouble!

Nice video, haven't watched it all yet, but I did see some nice improvement in your approach from the last time I looked at one of your videos. Not that it means much since I am not your coach, but you have lost that bunny hop.

Thinking you could benefit from putting some more rotation or lift on the ball to get some more reaction from your ball on the lanes. Just my $.01.

vdubtx, he STILL has that "cutie little bunny hop", but only seems to use it when approaching chicks on the lanes! He uses that cutie little hop, and then says, " What's Up Doc!" LOL I will say this about Aslan,,, he is on the road to Greatness! I agree with the rotation,,, it looks flat coming off his hand.

I am not a coach either, but it looks like to my untrained eye that he needs a little more hand, and lift! I agree all other aspects of his delivery look great now. But when I look at the ball coming off his hand it looks limp!

IF he gets that aspect of his game working, along with his good form, I think it just might take him to the NEXT LEVEL,,,, THE ICEMAN LEVEL! LOL

I hesitate to GIVE THIS INFORMATION to him, knowing it just might come back to kick me in the butt next year, but ,,,, I am ,,,,,,just,,,, that kind of Guy!!

Yeah thanks.

Working with Rob last fall really slowed my approach down, moved it closer to the foul line, and got me rolling the ball versus chucking it.

The next step is the release and I'm working hard on that right now. If I can stay behind/under the ball and allow my thumb to come out clean…with a little more upright stance….I can get decent revs on the ball in a very effortless way. Unfortunately, because I'm used to "gripping" and not to having my thumb come out clean…and I'm not used to keeping my hand behind/under the ball…I have a tendency to drop it from time to time. And until I can get some consistency in my release, I'm going to struggle quite a bit as the rev difference is more dramatic.

I'm confident the revs will come. I can't get impatient and start "trying" to rev the ball. Thats when I start to lose accuracy and start lofting the ball or coming over the top of it. I want to generate revs the RIGHT way…and thats gonna take some time to learn to do consistently.

Most recently I've been focusing on keeping my sweep foot down on it's side on the approach. If I tend to lift that foot or lift that leg into the air…I tend to bend too much over the foul line and release the ball flat. If I can keep that foot flat on it's side…and straighten up just a little bit at the line…I end up generating revs in my release. In addition, I'm trying to add the newest hint from Rob M. which is to shorten my first step. That "hop" used to happen because I was so far back in the approach and taking huge steps. As I've moved up in the approach and shortened those steps…the hop is no longer possible.

DON"T get a BIG head lion man!! Sure your bowling better,,, So WHAT?? Give me the Gift any day over all the bowling instructions in the world!!

Work on that game Lion Man from the West Coast,,, you have time to perfect your game! Then we shall meet again, this time I might just ride in my CAR, instead of my bike! The Name of this Thread has been overshadowed by Rob's victory. The name of this Thread is Aslan vs Iceman!
Who cares about Rob's victory on the lanes he was born on!!! WHO CARES???

That adventuresome ride took a lot out of Iceman! I believe next time I will ride my made in America Prius out with the bike trailer hooked up!
That way I can bring my 6 bagger of TOTAL DISTRUCTION!!

I think Rob had a huge advantage, he had at least a dozen balls with him, and he KNEW THE LANES,,, rumor has it that he was born on lane 1 and two. YES THE SAME LANES WE STARTED the bowl off on! Heck,,,, Mudpuppy only brought ONE ball!! I only had 3, one new and untested?
I am not making up exucses, just know that next meeting, Mudpuppy and Ice will have a FULL arsenal, ready to do battle!

ROB has the Gift!! It was not his knowledge so much as his god given gift that got him by THAT DAY! Here is how I see it!

1. knowledge can be power, but you better have the Gift to handle that knowledge. Rob has both, and that sucks!

2. Aslan is evolving,,,, many aspects of his game are showing improvement, (to a degree), but DOES HE HAVE THE GIFT,, hiding in that Peter Sellers shell?

3. Next meeting, Mudpuppy Will bring more weapons,,, He has a gift, and showed it on lane 1 and 2! But when we moved to the new lanes, ( a move that was set up in advance for reasons known to but a small number of insiders, Mud will be prepared next time,,, he might even bring TWO BALLS!!!

There will be another Clash of Bowling Titans! I am thinking next spring, or summer when the rates drop in Vegas and maybe more opening on the lanes at Sam's town! Real Men bowl at Sam's town!
I might just bring my 5th wheel out this time, and I know Sam's town has a nice camp area, Ice cycle and me enjoyed our camping experience their a number of years ago... YES I THINK WE WILL BRING THE CAMPER to our next meeting!!

HOME AWAY from HOME,,, I will be in much better condition and READY to DEFEAT, not only Aslan,,,, (piece of cake), but the bowling God ROB!!

Keep at that game ROB!!!! ICE has you in his sights!!!

3 fircken PIN's..... gRRRRRRRRR..... GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! I want revenge:p$#@$^$^$^!$!$^$^

On the other side of that arguement...there might be something to the whole "gift" concept. I mean, I'm not a silver level coach or anything...but of the very basic stuff I learned to become a youth level coach...watching Iceman bowl...I can't imagine how the hell(o) he scores 120 much less 300 games!!! That approach and stance and release and etc... is NOT textbook. Yet somehow...through giftedness or magic or a deal with the devil...the pins just fell down.

Of matter of fact...when Rob tried to give him just some BASIC instruction in terms of the very, very basic foot placement and initial steps...Iceman fell down on the approach and nearly broke his knee!! I'm NOT KIDDING!!! Rob tried to interject "skill" into the gifted bowler and it nearly KILLED him!!

Do you realize that the morning AFTER the epic battle...with the cameras OFF...and Iceman weakened by Rob trying to teach him basic technique...I averaged 206 and beat Iceman in BOTH games we played!!! I rolled a clean 234 for chrissake!! Of course...we conveniently didn't get THAT on camera!!

I'm hoping my skils improve more. And maybe at some point I can contract the "gift" like Ebola or something. Team USA trials are in January!! I WANT a spot on the team dammit!!! I WANT to go to the Pan AM games in Toronto...since they're in Toronto and not some horribly backwards latin America location.

But...thats admittingly a tall order at this point. May have to sit this one out and let Chris Barnes have the spot. I'm not quite "ChrisBarnesworthy" just YET...but watch your back Barnes!! In 10 years...after Walter Ray finally retires (and I get his Brunswick sponsorship)...YOU AND ME will be battling in the PBA50 and the Seniors Masters. You can't duck me forever!!!

Aslan: I need to address a few things here.

1. Iceman's basic skills are well within the acceptable range. He only got tripped up slightly when I messed with his footwork which you should certainly be able to understand. Remember when we first addressed your over-done crossover step?

2. Each bowler's "gift" is personal to him. Earlier Iceman referred to my having the give. Actually, my "gift" is my knowledge. Iceman's is his physical ability. Knowing your propensity for over-thinking (as I do), I think that knowledge may ultimately prove to be your gift as well.

3. You can't compare our bowling on Thursday to the "tournament" on Wednesday. Much easier lanes on Thursday with no competition.

4. Your skills have improved a lot so I'm sure that Chris Barnes is sighing with relief knowing that his Team USA spot is safe for another year.

OK,,, I am really UPSET NOW!!

Set up the next tournament! I will DESTROY YOU ONCE AGAIN,,, it won't even be close!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRR,,, I wish I lived closer,,,, it would happen LIKE NOW!!!

You Can't EVEN think you beat Iceman the day I was trying out stuff Rob was wanting me to do!

That was my first Coaching lesson.... He gave me several things to think about during my approach,,,,, GRRRRRRRRRRRRR,,,, !!!!!!

Today with Pat Henderson, ( Hall of Famer).... we won all four games again,,,, and now are only 2 games out of first, I had a 202, 234, and 214!

What did you have Coached, gift- less kitty cat.... I was much to kind to you giving you the avatar you did not deserve.

SAM"S TOWN next MEETING,,,, I am not riding my bike this time,,, I will, as mentioned earlier, make the trip with my 5th wheel... with all my weapons!

Talk the talk kitty cat... YOUR NOT a LION yet, and may never be one!! Why???? Because YOU DON"T HAVE THE GIFT! Your born with it!

Prove me wrong if you can,,,, kitty cat,,,, purrrrr,,,, purrrrr,,,, meow!!!!!!

Wow,,, I wish YOU lived closer to MISSOURI!!!!!!

When do we meet again,,, I have camped at Sam's Town RV Park.....

This time when I beat you it will be over 200 pins,,,,not just one hundred and fifty something!!!

Spring???

Summer???

or Fall Sept 24,,, Icemans next birthday!!!

will be in my home away from home!! RESTED, and with my full arsenal.... hey mudpuppy only had ONE ball, and still kicked some ASK!!!!
Not sure what your puny average will be by next meeting, but I will even give you mr 40 year old, handicap what ever that is, and will still
BEAT YOU AT 67 years old,,,, with nothing but my gift, and ONE lesson from Rob! LOL,,,, LOL.... OOOOOO I can't wait,,,,, this meeting may have to be sooner,,, after the winter weather,,,, I will be traveling across the mountains with my RV,,,,, earliest would be spring!!!!!

When I fell at that coaching lesson that Rob gave, he said you laughed behind my back!!! ((( Laugh out loud at an old guy falling to the floor)))
YOUR evil!!!

YOUR not a NICE GUY to me anymore... your the focus of my RAGE!!!! I will teach you a lesson ONCE again, soon!

I guess like that James Bond movie, "Once was not Enough"

This time you will be doing battle with my wife first,,, if you can beat her, then I will give you another chance!!!! But why waste my time, if you can't beat her first! Her average is about the same as yours!!!

wife: Hey honey,,, Ice: Yes sweet heart? wife: I can beat that wimp with his shiny shirt, let me at him first! ice: fine with me honey!

Watching the video of the tournament with the youtube application through the television. Aslan has improved in his approach to the foul line quite a bit. Not sure what Aslan was thinking when he ragged on Iceman's 300 games, two by the way, and also wrote this; Of matter of fact...when Rob tried to give him just some BASIC instruction in terms of the very, very basic foot placement and initial steps...Iceman fell down on the approach and nearly broke his knee!! I'm NOT KIDDING!!! Rob tried to interject "skill" into the gifted bowler and it nearly KILLED him!! Is this the same gentleman that bought Iceman a birthday cake? Anyhow, back to the video. Suncoast lanes plays some of the worst music on earth. The guy working the desk is a piece of work for putting the tournament on lanes 1-2. Then in the middle of the matches forcing them to move to the last 2 lanes in the house. Rob looked very accurate throughout many games-7- and made some good adjustments. Leading him to victory. Mudpuppy throws a strong first shot, often striking or leaving a stone 9 or ringing 7 pin. Mud was also wearing a camera on his chest while bowling, can not wait to see his video too. Being a part of the sewing circle, I enjoyed the live tweets, as did a few others. I go to Vegas a few times a year. If future dates match up, I will give the tournament a shot.

Aslan: I need to address a few things here.
Using the term "need" loosely; but okay.

1. Iceman's basic skills are well within the acceptable range.
Okay. Lets just leave it there. I agree that Iceman is probably the most "acceptable" bowler I've ever witnessed.

Remember when we first addressed your over-done crossover step?
No. I've blocked that from my memory.

Actually, my "gift" is my knowledge. Iceman's is his physical ability.
Can I interpret that to mean your weakness is physical ability and Iceman's weakness is his lack of knowledge?? I agree, next…

Knowing your propensity for over-thinking (as I do), I think that knowledge may ultimately prove to be your gift as well.
I like to think of my "gift" as the "gift of love" in terms of the ladies. Or my "gift of song". Or my gift of just general awesomeness and having a magnetic personality. I don't know if you were here for this or not Rob…but my "personality gift" allowed me to stay on this website. Only 6 of roughly 12-13 people thought I was evil and should be permanently banned from posting on this very website. Looking at that as the glass is "half full"; that means approximately 50-55% of people on this website (using some extrapolation) thing I'm absolutely crucial to their enjoyment of this website.

In terms of bowling…I have the GIFT of being able to routinely throw a 150-168 game without much effort. I have the "gift" of picking up at least 1 out of every 3 to 4 single pin spare leaves. I have the "gift" of being able to hit a target board +/- 3-9 boards.

3. You can't compare our bowling on Thursday to the "tournament" on Wednesday. Much easier lanes on Thursday with no competition.
I CAN and will. The truth is, I intentionally threw the main event tournament because I felt bad for everyone else. I didn't want to crush them and possibly cause them to quit bowling. I love the sport…what can I say? And what kind of cruel person defeats a guy on his 66th birthday?? Not me. I let Rob do that.

But yes, the following day…I had to put a bit of a smack down on you two…so not to let you get too big of heads. To bring you each down to Earth…so you don't lose the DESIRE to improve.

4. Your skills have improved a lot so I'm sure that Chris Barnes is sighing with relief knowing that his Team USA spot is safe for another year.
Do not mock greatness. Many years ago, there was a boy. And he was weird and had giant ears. Kids teased him and threw rocks at his head. He was beaten mercilessly on a daily basis. Until one day, he picked up a very round rock and rolled it…and it was a perfect shot that cause the ball to roll up a downspout, over tree branch, and drop onto the head of the lead bully. From that day forward, everyone knew his name and respected his greatness. That is the story of how Norm Duke came to be a great bowler. True story. Sort of. Actually not 100%…or probably even 40%…but it's in print, not he internet, so now everyone that google's "Norm Duke" will probably link to here and read it and it'll end up on his Wiki page.

Now that I've met Iceman…I'm not as impressed with my ability to rile him up with such little effort…because I know that his "outrage" is more done in jest than out of actual anger. But it's still a "little" fun!

How bout this little added tidbit to this EPIC thread....

Obviuosly, many viewers and followers at home are probably looking at the amazing display of skill that was exhibited...and they probably are wondering to themselves (as I am); "How can I bowl like these guys?"

So as part of this "Post Challenge Banter/Discussion", I thought our victors/champion(s) could give some insight into their "game" and give us beginners/novice folks some pointers...from the perspective of everday bowlers that just happen to be truly exceptional. It ALSO would be interesting to see how similar the better performers are in thier approach to the game/shot and also how DIFFERENT these approaches may be.

Now, me...I'm gonna give my insight MERELY as a template so that the champions have a framework to use to list their stuff. Obviously I'm more interested in THEIR approaches/techniques since my game could certainly benefit from what the others have to say (where as their games could only be irrepairably harmed by adopting anything I might mention).

So, just as a template to use, I've broken it up like this:

Pre-Shot:
Starting Stance:
Approach:
Target:
Release:
Post-Release:

For example; here is my list (of probably how NOT to win the AVI Challenge):

Pre-Shot: Nothing. Just the pre-shot ritual of wiping my ball down with a towel and then putting my thumb in and out of the ball to see if the fit is too snug or not snug enough. If it feels a little loose I may blow into the thumbhole. Then putting my left toe wherever I've determined I need to start.

Starting Stance: This is in the process of changing, but for the tournament I focused on a slight bend at the waist and then getting myself lower...maybe even lower than feels "comfortable". Didn't concentrate much on where I was holding the ball or supporting the weight (although I probably should have since my ball has a tendency to drift left in my stance and that messes up the swing plane).

Approach: The approach is where I do most of my 'thinking'...probably too much. And again, this has changed since. But, for the tournament, I was focusing on timing. I would say to myself during the approach, "Push, back, back, swing"...each corresponding with a step of the approach. That way I remember to push the ball out with the first step and I remember to start my downswing and eliminate getting to the foul line too early with the ball still very far back in my backswing. I also am thinking about how I want to finish...for this tournament "sweeping" the trail leg versus "kicking it" sideways. And I was reminding myself to keep that sweep foot down on it's side so I could combat my tendency/bad habit of raising up at the foul line. And also I was reminding myself to stay focused on that target...not to take my eyes off of it. If I can stay focused on that target I can usually hit it and good things happen. If I get distracted with all the other stuff and forget to focus on the target...much less likely to hit it.

Target: I usually play middle or outside. For me middle is going to be targeting the 10-12 boards...my "second arrow shot" if you will. If it's the "outside" shot then it's usually a shot up the 7-8 boards. I think for the AVI I was playing an outside line with the more aggressive Encounter, probably in around the 9-10 boards. Normally my outside line is further out, but the more aggressive Encounter is the one exception since it moves too early if it starts out that far outside. I also will have a -1, -2, -3 system where I will target how far OUT I am targeting. This allows me to make slight adjustments for weak hits without necessarily moving right a board. So "R1, -2" will be one board right of my starting spot and 2 marks closer to the foul line. The marks aren't exact but generally -1 is just shy of the arrows, -2 is sort of midway between the dots and arrows, and -3 is just past the dots. I do have an "inside" line but rarely use it since my rev rate doesn't allow the ball to get back into the pocket. I only attempt it if it looks like the lane conditions are dry.

Release: The release happens so fast that I don't really have time to think about it...but for the AVI I was "trying" to focus on getting my thumb out clean without "grasping" or "pinching" the ball.

Post-Release: I try to post. But mainly I'm focused on the leave more so than the ball path after hitting the pocket. As I get more advanced, I'd like to do better at watching the ball go through the pins and exit the pin deck. But post release I am usually so disgusted with not knocking them all down that I forget to pay attention to the path the ball took through the pin deck.

I figured the odds of getting full participation and following of directions at 1 in 2000. Sucks being right ALL the time. Every once in awhile it's nice to be surprised.

Okay, lets re-phrase the request in a more 3rd grade reading level, gift-oriented way...

- When approaching the lanes...how does the Gift touch you? Does it give you like foresight into what is going to happen? Can you see the future?

- When in your stance, does the gift allow you to have the perfect stance? Or is the stance irrelevant due to the gift? What if you stood backwards or sideways? Would the gift ultimately allow the ball to hit the pins regardless?

- When on the approach, do you have to physically move your legs? Or does the gift move them for you? Does the ball get to a certain height in the backswing and then you take control? Or is the entire swing motion gift controlled?

- Is only your right hand gifted? Or have both your hands been gifted? If only one, would bowling 2-handed diminish the one hand's gift? Are the hands gifted with any other powers?

- What if you don't strike? Were you less gifted on that shot? Or did you mess up the gift? And if you messed it up, why would the Gift allow you to mess up? Why wouldn't it step in?

Thanks!

If I'm lined up with the right ball in my hands, the only gift I get is the side pot. Today, I got two of them for a 265, and a 254. We won't talk about the games where I didn't get the gift with scores of 158-156. The lanes changed so fast, it was like the Magical Mystery Tour. I'm sure Michael gets the reference. For you, Aslan, that's the name of an old Beatles song. Lol!

surprises are highly over rated. Your logic is sound! (not like your bowling skills)!

Okay, lets re-phrase the request in a more 3rd grade reading level, gift-oriented way...

Sorry Kitty Cat,,, I don't believe their are any 3rd grade bowlers on this site, but there are a few that bowl on a 3rd grade level.....

- When approaching the lanes...how does the Gift touch you? Does it give you like foresight into what is going to happen? Can you see the future?

Can NOT be put into words,,,,,it,,,,,,IT JUST happens! Like when you give an artist a paint brush, it just HAPPENS!,,,,,, ( the gift that is)!

- When in your stance, does the gift allow you to have the perfect stance? Or is the stance irrelevant due to the gift? What if you stood backwards or sideways? Would the gift ultimately allow the ball to hit the pins regardless?

You think WAY TOO MUCH,,,, that's a big part of your problem!! Be a Ninja bowler, or like in my case be a ICEMAN Bowler,,,, COOL!!!!

- When on the approach, do you have to physically move your legs? Or does the gift move them for you? Does the ball get to a certain height in the backswing and then you take control? Or is the entire swing motion gift controlled?

Its pretty much gift controlled, your learning grasshopper!!

- Is only your right hand gifted? Or have both your hands been gifted? If only one, would bowling 2-handed diminish the one hand's gift? Are the hands gifted with any other powers?

One hand,,, two hands even 3 or 4 hands,,, the Gift transcends the number of hands

- What if you don't strike? Were you less gifted on that shot? Or did you mess up the gift? And if you messed it up, why would the Gift allow you to mess up? Why wouldn't it step in?

If you don't strike, then you lose the ability to make high score, grasshopper! The gift has a mind of its own, as Rob well knows, it can humble you when need be! Go with the flow,,, quit fighting it Aslan,,,, let your senses take control! Quit Thinking, (if possible), and let the mind relax!

PEACE,,, and may the Gift be with YOU!

Your Welcome, Iceman

Thanks!

Whatever names you select, check to see if they really apply.

You've probably surfed as much or more than I ever have.

And while you're in the planning phase, select a modern bowling center, not some flea bag center like Sams Town.

If there is a step ladder final like this year, there needs to be a practice lane available for those waiting to bowl.

Sitting out for a couple of games, and no warmup, is hard on the body.

6 lane Mom and Pop place here in Missouri! We did the synthetic thing, how about what REAL MEN/Women Bowl on WOOD!!
Hey I traveled 1400 miles on a motorcycle with my wife behind me. Plattsburg has that Old Small Town Appeal! Google the
town and take a look! Central location right in the middle of the USA. I know for SURE that, Jason, Gene, Chad, Mary, Joyce, and even
Pat Henderson would be present! It has the making of a HUGE EVENT!! YOUR THOUGHS, Mike, Rob, Aslan, Mud??

We would OWN the Lanes! No one else in the 6 lane pristine wood lanes. I bet I could even get some of them Farm Boys to join in!
It rents out for 65 bucks an our, which includes the whole alley, it would be ours!! I would consider even paying for the bowling, and renting the lanes myself!
but it we did share the cost, It would be VERY small considering how many would be bowling this Epic Event in Historic Plattsburg!

JUST THINK OF IT,,, The Establishment would be ALL OURS!!

IT WOULD BE HUGE!!! I would help with finding you out of town people inexpensive lodging! MUCH cheaper then Vegas!

If you all agree,, to have the next one at Plattsburg!
I will take care of the bowling alley myself!!
NO COST TO YOU!

You will just need to find a way out here, and room and board for one night, or two! Depending on when you decided to leave.

Think about the fun, of visiting historic Plattsburg! Bring your golf clubs, they also have a beautiful Golf Course not far from the bowling alley!

Wood,,,, REAL Bowling like in the days of OLD,,, when MEN were MEN!!! Are YOU MEN enough to tackle the wood. We can vote on the oil pattern and Chris will put it down for us. We will select one of many different patterns!

As of right now, my bowling career is in a bit of a holding pattern. I'm right on that borderline between pushing forward and trying to get better versus just giving up and realizing the sport just isn't for me.

BUT…it would be hard to turn down wood lanes since Aslan has done so well there.

Be a champion, not a quitter!!

When are we going to do this event on Wood!! If Rob, Mud, and Mike want to come cool!! I would love to have them! I know I have a group of locals that want to do this tornament also. We would have complete control of the alley, it will be OURS!!

But this is all about Aslan vs Iceman on Wood! I will have a trophy made for the winner, (at my expense also)! LOL
I will also have a much smaller trophy for the larger group champ!

If you want to make it on wood, make it a plastic ball only event.

Real men know how to hit the pocket without a wall of oil guiding the ball, and reactive resin to keep it up against that wall.

NOT sure what your talking about, I have had some VERY GOOD bowlers try Plattsburg out,,, some games pretty damn good, some not so good.
You will need to show ICEMAN where this "Wall of Guiding OIL is! Hope your coming, would be interesting to see you and Aslan bowl on Wood!
I think he has the edge so far??? Correct me if I am wrong!?

Some of the toughest lanes I have ever played. They are in great condition, and get above and beyond lane maintenance, and inspected by the USBC twice a year.

I know guys that have been bowling there for 35 years,, they use the same combination of balls, symmetrical, asymmetrical,,, you name it! GOOD LUCK with your plastic ball when you arrive. I don't seem to understand why plastic? Maybe your being sarcastic with the thought of What REAL MEN Bowl on!

One of the reasons there has never been a sanctioned 300 game on these pristine lanes is they applied the oil by using mops up until 3 years ago, when they got the Oil Machine I posted on this thread. I think there will be one in the near future,,, there are some good scores now and then on the wood.

But take off about 20 pins on your average when bowling these lanes, unless your the exception to the rule! Wood is much more complicated a Challenge in my opinion!

I had a couple good 200 plus last Thursday that I posted... so it can be done!

There have been two non sanctioned 300s, says the managers, Chris, and Lee!

I think it would be a hoot, having the lanes to ourselves,,, 6 lanes! Closed to the public!

I want to keep the numbers to basically bowling board com members, which would include Jason, and Gene! Pat Henderson is not a member as of yet, so he would not be invited.
Pat its not to late to join!! LOL

Ice man puts the bumpers up at this alley for one reason! I am so confidant with my ability to keep the ball on the lanes, that I have an open end bet that if my ball touches the PCP Pipe, I will donate 1000.00 dollars to the Help Aslan thought coaching, charity!

Don't get excited, the money would go directly to Rob!! Your hands would not come in contact with the donation! (Fear you might yet purchase another ball for your closet!)

READ the Thread,,,, ( NEVER BEEN a sanctioned 300 since 1957), when it opened. Its going to happen, on my Thursday and with the (new/used reconditioned oil machine) I have seen some eight in a roles even 9 strikes,,, but no gold ring yet!

Are you THE MAN ASLAN??? HOW about you MIKE,,,, How about YOU ROB??? These are great lanes,,,, its going to happen, I can feel it.

I think another reason their has not been one is that these Farm Boys like a challenge! They don't use the SAME OLD BLOCKED pattern every week.
They change the length, and pattern.

They get together and talk about what kind of pattern they want just before league every Thursday afternoon, and lay it down fresh.

What pattern and leangth will we be using in our

REAL MEN BOWL WOOD Tournament of 2015?

start saving your money! Only expence would be the cheap flight out to KCI, rental car, and room. ICEMAN will take care of the bowling alley!
We could have the lanes for as many hours as we decide... Sorta like the sign says in front for open bowling! They only have leauges in the fall and winter.

This is a ONCE in a LIFETIME opportunity to show your skills on WOOD! When would be your choice of time of year? Remember if we want to do this on a weekend, they have no leagues on Saturday , they simple don't have the open bowling, if we have it late in the afternoon.. LOL

First off, what Aslan bowled on wouldn't qualify as wood lanes. They were in such poor shape, with probably 90% of the first 15 feet being patched boards, and they hadn't been sanded to be flush with the board next to it. It was like bowling on asphalt.

As for decent condition wood, thats all there was during the majority of my bowling.

I shot my 1st 300 on wood, and my 791 series.

My recent 837 was on synthetic, with a massive wall of guiding oil.

You did see the wall of guiding oil in Vegas.

Mudpuppy, and Rob used it quite often, pulling the ball and it just stopped hooking at the oil line.

Rob tended to give the ball a little room early, but the ball would hook back to the oil line, then set in the pocket.

It may be that the wall of oil has always been there for your whole bowling experience, so you don't recognize it.

Real men bowl on a condition where if you miss your target (at 15 feet) by 1 board, you miss the pocket by 4 boards.

Wall babies (on the wall of guiding oil) can miss by 5 boards and still hit the pocket.

It's quite possible that the 6 lane center by using mops to apply oil didn't create the wall of oil, but it's highly likely they do when using a modern machine.

Back in the days before synthetic, there wasn't reactive resin balls. So if you wanted your ball to hit harder than a marshmallow, you had to learn how to roll it. Lane friction alone didn't make the ball roll like today's balls.

It was easy to throw too much revs, and the ball wouldn't hook at all. You see this today with house balls that some people try to spin.

You could throw the ball hard, with very little (if any) hook, but your angle of entry was weak.

If you slowed the ball down, you could improve the angle of entry, but the slow speed meant the ball hit with much less energy.

Bowling with plastic balls was a balancing act.

Some of us put in the time to optimize that balance and we outscored the masses.

Then came along reactive resin, and the balancing act was severely disrupted.

You couldn't over rev the ball and have it not hook, which mean as long as your revs were in line with your speed, you could increase both and the results kept improving.

The masses however couldn't control that much hooking ability so the bowling centers put more oil in the middle of the lane to help guide the ball to the pocket.

Back in the day it wasn't about what score you shot, it was about did you beat your opponent.

Now it seems people are more happy averaging 240 in a tourney and finishing 5th, compared to averaging 205 and winning.

Tough lane conditions test all parts of your game.

Easy conditions test your ability to play the wall the way the wall wants to be played.

After the beating I suffered in Vegas; I've put my high profile bowling career on hold as I learn to actually bowl. Besides, currently all eyes are on the Virtual Bowling Tournament of Champions...the tournament you were too afraid to join.

After the VBT, I have to decide if I'm gonna try out for Team USA. Then I got the BVL Tournament shortly thereafter. Hopefully Santa brings my wife a job so I can afford to divorce her. And once that goes final, I plan to win either the Powerball or Mega Millions lottery so I can afford my Malibu mansion. So, LOTS on my plate with the year coming to an end...can't even think about going on some half-arse expedition to Missouri. Especially after reading that they recently found a house in Missouri that was infested with 6000 brown recluse spiders. No thank you. If I'm gonna drive to hillbilly land...I'll just go bowl against Amyers in West Virginia...better scenary out there and I won't have to worry about being caught up in the race riots.

Besides, I turn the big 4 0 in a couple weeks so my remaining time on this ***thole of a planet is soon coming to an end. Then you'll have to put your ear to the ground and if ya hear some rumbling...thats me and the Devil bowling!

Not afraid of Virtual bowling, I just prefer the REAL THING! I like the sweet smell of sweat from my victims... Virtual is too sterile ... and can be make-believe since no one knows for sure, if people are taking mulligans!! NOT MY THING!!

First time I came on here in a long time and no new posts in here? I was :(

So I'm posting in here to keep it alive and kicking. The spiders, blood, sweat, 5 shots of jack, bikers, surfers, bowling of course and immortal fame can never be forgotten.

I think even MWhite had a good time. He might fool you with his comments and his plastic ball remarks but I'd bet dollars to donuts if we scheduled a vegas tourney next week he would be the first one there.

KC - oh KC. When art thou? I need more epic tourney time. Plattsburg sounds incredible. I'm going to throw this out there - second weekend in June 2015.

second week in June sounds good to me,,, actually ANY TIME, ANY DAY,,, ANY Month! I have this feeling it might be a new group of players. Mike White got beat so bad by Rob, and his superior knowledge, that I doubt he will want any more duels with The Beast, Rob! Not even sure Rob, and spider man Aslan, will make the trip.

But I DO KNOW A BUNCH of guys that are on this site,,, ( The Dude, JASON), (Biker Gene and Mary his woman), Pat The Beast Henderson, at 60 years old a local friend and bowling partner, that is a Hall of famer, and who ever else wants the GLORY!

I will have trophies,,, and I am picking up the bowling alley for that event!

Anyone wanting to lay claim to the: ( Real Men bowl with Spiders on Wood tournament), the last wood lanes in the whole metro Kansas city Kansas, Missouri area, Start signing up!

We will have 6 lanes, and the whole house to ourselves! It will be a private party! Six bowlers so far! That's a lane a piece! LOL

Let me know ASAP,,, so I can start making plans! We can pick a day that works for the most of you,, that probably being a weekend, like Saturday.

sign up below: As long as I know by spring the numbers, I can get things lined out!

I thinking that we should start a new thread for this event, since I already beat Aslan, and he probably won't make the trip, just to get beat again!

This thread should be closed,,, I really doubt Mike, Rob, and Kitty Cat will put forth the effort Iceman did to make it easy for them!

I know in my minds eye this thread will never die! Meeting all of you, and riding my bike out with my wife, pulling the trailer we built with all our gear,,,, IT WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY I HAVE EVER HAD!!!

The sign that Aslan had his friend draw,, (which is in my man room and will be framed in the near future), was GREAT! The cake was ,,, just,,, too much,,, I kid Aslan, but I love him like a brother I wished I had!!

meeting all of you, and the GREAT TIME we had interacting, and bowling! Well it just don't get any better then that! I wished we all lived a hell of a lot closer, and could bowl together more often.
