Okay it's week 3 of this exercise, I tried applying some of what little I've learned so far. Just to see if it makes any kind of difference and it seems to have helped some.
Luckly tonight we happened to bowl on the same lanes as we bowled on two weeks ago when I started this (It's postion night). So I had something to reference and compare against.
During practice/warmup:
1- I watched the lines everyone used.
2- I didn't worry about finding a "line" during warm up, I just warmed up.
3- When warmup ended I did a quick diagram on my lane diagram whiteboard app (Before you ask, It's called "Coachnote" on the App store). So I'd have a record.
Now looking at the diagram:
The red lines are the other team.
The blue lines are my team and the black line me.

Now the reason I chose the line I played was:
1- In the heads, that area would retain more oil, nobody else was really there. that gave me the oil I needed to get down the lane.
2- Towards the end of the pattern there would be oil from 10 to the inside, so I had some hold there. With a few of the others creating some bump to the outside in about the right place for me.
3- I figured that line might hold for quite awhile (which it did!), because knowing the bowlers. I knew they would mostly keep using the same lines without adjusting much if any. Except for the 716 guy, he knows to move and adjust.
Now looking at the games below. The first three frames I used my Beatdown, but it was too early. So I switched to my DV8 Dude, which really started getting pocket then and I stuck with it all night.
Now my guess that I would have better hold toward the inside and room outside seemed about right. Plus the line held well me and as it broke down my scores went up.
Now the other players scores started higher and went down as the night went on.
Talking to the 716 bowler (245-244-227), he had to adjust by moving in and change balls because by the 2nd game. His ball was starting to react too early, because he was rolling into the areas my guys were playing and there's not as much oil and they were drying it out.
