Last Saturday at the So. NV USBC HOF Banquet I won a Brunswick Nirvana. But, because it's not very versatile I decided I wanted to trade it for the DV8 Vandal Smash. So I called my PSO and he jumped on the trade. He's also throwing in the drilling and the inserts as well.
The Smash is considered the Any Bowler, Any Time, Any Place ball because of it's versatility. It can also be used as a benchmark ball.
I have the original Vandal and I still love this ball because it's is very clean from front to back. Doesn't over read the friction and is very smooth to the pocket. BUT, if you get too far outside with it, odds are you're not getting back to the pocket and even of you do there's more ugliness than good stuff. It also doesn't like too much oil, and it acts as if as it's allergic to the oil.
The Smash has the same core as the original, but a brand new cover stock, and is for med-heavy oil, is very versatile and about 5 boards stronger with a little more length.
It is also just as smooth from front to back as the original, but has a lot more forgiveness and is stronger to the pocket with great pin action.
I'm going to drill this one pin up over ring at 65x4.5x35
So where will this fit in my bag? Once things get too squirrely for the Ultimate Nirvana, this can come right in and I can take the same track as the UN without losing anything.
