Well lets start with the 9 pin.. Thsi pin has been costing me 300's for 3-4 seasons now.. Back in 06 I shot 290 with leaving a 9 pin in the 1st frame and picking up the spare..No biggy back then because it wasnt too common. Now this year it seems as if its back and out to just ruin my nights of bowling.. lol... Earlier in the season I was in practice and shot 279.. Pocket 9 in the 4th frame cost the 300... Then we fast forward a month of so.. I was late to league and due to yelling at some Best Buy customer service people.. I had to get there by the end of the 3rd frame to be able to bowl the 1st game. When I pulled up I grabbed my shoes out of the bag and just grabbed whatever ball wasnt in a bag and in easy reach to just throw down the lane.. I get in just in time because they were just gettin to the last bowler in the 3rd frame. Then I realized that the ball that I had brought in was a ball that I had NEVER thrown there and now I have to throw 3 frames with no practice with it.. Well to speed up some I was crushing pocket with it and had front 9. 1st ball of the 10th, the best ball I had thrown, killed pocket and the 9 pin just stood there.. Nothin even touched it.. picked it up and struck the 12th ball for yet another 279 thanks to the 9 pin...
Well I changed a little bit of my style and got rid of leaving the solid 9's.. now the pin that seems to hate me no matter what center, what city, or what ball is the 4 pin... Soooo many pocket 4 pins.. I just cant believe all of the 4's that I leave. I probably leave atleast 5 pocket 4's each league night... I was bowling in The Florida Bowlers Classic down in the Orlando area and was shooting VERY well.. Butttt just couldnt seem to carry the 4 pin to save my life... I shot 16 games and left the 4 pin 20+ times... I didn remember that this center left alot last time for me as well so I waasnt too worried because I was still averageing 220+ down there... Well I get to the 3rd game of one of my squads and pull out my polished Virtual.. This was the 1st time that I had broke it out that weekend and I was just trying to salvage a mid 600 set.. Well jumping ahead this ball was holding a line perfect.. I felt like I couldnt miss... I shot the front 10 and then guess who... That 4 pin pops up on my 11th ball.. Flush pocket and left the 4... I had my choice words for that pin at that time.. and I think just about everyone heard themm..ha.. But picked it up to shoot 289... GRRR..
