As I surmised last week, 33-34 turned out to be a tricky shot. Throw in horrific carry and it really becomes a challenge. The Virtual Energy has become the go to ball at the start of the night and most likely will be for the rest of the season. The shot looked pretty good during practice targeting 8 out to about 5, so a little flatter than in weeks past. When the game started, however, the carry really went down the tubes. I left 5 single pin spares in the first game (3 10s and 2 7s) along with a split from a pulled shot 4-6-10. The end result was only a 193. Started game 2 with 3 spares resulting from garbage carry as well. My teammate was kidding me to "make the ball change" because it seemed like everytime I changed to the Mutant Cell, I had a big string. Also, I would normally yell "ball change" after throwing the first strike. Last night was no different as I strung 6 after the change in the 4th frame. Got to the 10th and threw a really decent shot only to leave a ripping 7-10. Seems like getting at least one of these a week is the norm. Even with this crappy break, managed a 235. The last game was pretty uneventful shooting a 209 for a 637 series. Seems lately that if I have an average night, the team does really well (took 5 of 7). No bowling next week due to Thanksgiving, but 39-40 is next on the slate. This pair gave me fits last time and a 2 ball approach may be needed. Happy Turkey Day.![]()
