I bought a BFP (Big Fluffy Pad) from CTD a couple months ago. Works real nice. About $20.
Anyone using these? Was thinking about buying one to replace my 30+ year old bowling towel (got it with my original Burgundy Hammer). Do they work as advertised? Can they be cleaned?

Oh, and LEFTY!!!
Yes the leather shammies work great, I use one all the time. yes they can be cleaned.
I've cleaned my bowlingball.com leather shammy with warm water and soap and a nylon suede brush and it's fine.
You have to treat it like a car chamois, you got to use a very mild soap. Don't use dish soaps, laundry detergents, chemicals , alcohol or you'll remove the natural oils from the leather. A Chamois usually get stiff because they get too dry and loss of the natural oils in the leather.
I washed mine by hand with a hand soap (It's skin) and gently scrubbed it with the brush, then rinsed it thoroughly and squeezed/wrung it dry. I then stretched it out and clipped it to a coat hanger and let it air dry. Don't put it int the dryer or in the sun, UV is bad for it.
Here's my comparison test video of a Leather Shammy Pad and a Microfiber Towel.

If you get a decent microfiber towel, they work pretty good, but the Chamois (shammy) pads work much better. I picked up the little more expensive two side one from Storm and like very much. They can be washed easily by hand with a degreaser detergent and allowed to dry after a good rinse. I've had mine for several years now and haven't had the need to clean it yet... Good luck!
The Storm chamois was the one I was looking at. My issues with microfiber come down to one thing--I've been working with my hands all my adult life, and my hands are like velcro. Every time I try to set one of these down, it follows me. I know terrycloth isn't good, but it's kind of like my good luck charm....
