I wear the SST8's no issues for me. When I talked to my pro shop owner, he said stay away from the 9's. They come with less pads, require specific pads that are now $30+ a piece. The older pads don't work since the new shoe design has the front of the sole go up and over the toe to connect. At the very front of the sole there is no Velcro.

Love my SST6's, but they are close to being on their last leg. Think this season will be their last. The push off sole is cracking and is coming up at the back. Will look to pick up another pair of the 6's vs. going to the 8's or even the 9's.

My old brunswick shoes were the universal sole and weighed about 1/2 as much but I wanted to have the ability to change soles. wish I could change the right shoe soles.
They seem well made and are pretty comfortable, they also have better stability with the wider "clown like" toe box area.
Decided to send them back, can't get used to the grip of the push off shoe. I guess after all the years of having a slick sole I slightly drag my right foot and was in great danger of a face plant wearing the SST6, if the seller doesn't take them back might have to try putting a slide sock on the right and see if that works....lesson learned.

You do realize you can change the sole on the right shoe to a slicker one too unless the 6's are different than the 8's?

With the 6's, you can't change the push off sole. One reason I prefer the 6's to 8's or the new 9's. One less thing to have to worry about.

The new Dexter 9's just came out last month and are supposed to fix the issues the SST 8 had. But they have only been out a for a little while, so there is not much info on wear or any new issues involving them.

I've seen some good talk about the Dexter Tanks.

I just got a new pair of shoes, the Brunswick TPU-X's (the new versions which they fixed some issues the first gens. had). They fit well, they were made/designed by Calloway and fit like a Golf or running shoe. Kind of contoured to the shape of a foot. A lot of cushioning, arch support is good. The standard slide soles/heels are taking a bit to break in though. But I've only had them a little while so have to see.
I have had the TPU-X's since they first came out. The are a great shoe and I haven't had any problems with the first gens. 2 out of my 3 teammates now have them and my brother also bought a pair. We all love them and they are so comfortable. What sold me on them was hearing not 1 pro shop guy recommend them but 2. Neither of these guys are Brunswick affiliated or made money from me buying them.

I have neuropathy and the dexter sst 8's kill my feet. It is like wearing show shoes they have no padding and are stiff. I read a little on the TPU-s and they sound good. How many different soles do they come with and I need ones that slide. I have no use for plant soles or heels.

I'm not expert on this I'm lucky feet problems are one of the few I don't have but you may find that your better off investing in a really good set of orthopedic insert soles for your existing SST8 than spending money on a different pair of shoes.
