Congrats on a great game my high is 268 and I average quite a bit higher than you so you really threw it good. At least in my leagues the high handicap game for the year is usually a $100 dollar award. I would think that should put you in the running for it at the very least.

The USBC only gives out awards for 300's & 800's and then only if it your first ever.
Your local assn. probably gives out awards for other things. In our assn. for a 100 pins over game you get a bowling towel with the assn. name on it MDUSBC and 100 PINS OVER.

Didn't even think about a reward of some kind. Lookin at last weeks sheet, our league only lists high scratch game and series numbers, nothing listed for top handicap scores

All leagues are different most handicap leagues I've bowled on have offered something but yours may be different.

Most local Assn.'s give away some kind of trinkets for lower average bowlers. Unless the secretary is too lazy to turn in the paper work.
Any league that is a H\C league should have some recognition for high game and series for teams. Depends on how the averages are. We don't list individual highs and only pay team game and series at end of the year. Individual stuff is scratch. They must have 2/3 of the games or tough stuff.

Someone from NY moved to Florida... how rare is that.

One of the most common things to hear is Florida is... "Thats not how we did things in NY."

Well, this made me curious so I looked it up and what I found is that people from New York would call it Jersey as in "crossing the river into Jersey" where people from Jersey would call it in Brooklyn as in "crossing the river into Brooklyn." For some reason the rest of the country adopted the term Brooklyn and only New Yorkers use the term Jersey.

Years ago I was bowling in a tournament in Buffalo NY.

I threw a shot that started to cross over, and I was about to say "Brooklyn" but since I was in NY, it was quite likely someone there could have been from Brooklyn so instead I said "Rubidoux"

It's across the "river" from Riverside.

It's not really a river. I've actually ran across it (my high school days) since it's mostly dry, and where there was water, I could hop across.

Yea it's always a jersey around here. We are a few miles south of philly so we are close to the jersey border so I guess that's why
