Default 14lb Byte 15lb Byte??? What Happen to The Magic??

I know that a bowler should not use different weights in bowling balls, but then Iceman likes to experiment! One Thing I have noticed with the plugged Byte that I purchased from a friend, and had plugged, is that (its reaction is much different then the one I tried out during a Storm Demo Day here in Kansas city Missouri!

I had the plugged Byte drilled almost identical to the one I threw on the Demo Day, only difference is that the one I got for 60 bucks and had plugged and redrilled, does not react the same way.

My question is this, does two balls drilled the same way thrown by the same person react the same, with the only difference being the weight?

That one I demoed was a Strike Machine for me that day. It had the pin in the middle between the middle and ring finger. On four different lanes I was throwing nothing but strikes,,, it was incredible!! It was a 15lber!

I am just not getting that same reaction with the 14lber!

I know, many will say its your delivery,,, its different with a lighter ball ect ect..

But, ( if you put it on a machine, two Bytes drilled the same way, and then hit the button, would there be a huge difference all things being equal but the weight of the ball?)

I tried ,,,,BELIEVE me to buy that used Byte on Demo Day.... but no luck!

Now I am wondering it I got the 15lb Byte, and drilled it like Storm had it that day, would I have that Magic movement it gave me that day!

I remember bowling on 4 different lanes that day with that byte, and strike after strike!!!

It reminded me of One of my go to older balls even today, the Virtual Gravity nano pearl! Wish I could find a new one of them!! But I believe the Byte is as close as it comes to that ball!

With the 14# ball you will have different rev rate and ball speed compared to the 15#. Plus there will probable be subtle differences in spans and pitches which will alter your release some from what you did with the demo ball. Also lane surface and oil pattern will alter the reaction if they are not the same.

As for the Nano look on the Racks on Racks Facebook group as there have been a couple listed NIB

The thing here is how all the differences add up, not the similarities in the balls.

The demo ball and the used ball are:

Different gross weights, top weights etc.

    They have different RG's (15=2.52 & 14=2.55) and Diff.'s (.043 & .044)

Being drilled "almost" identical is not being drilled "identical"

How much use the balls have had is different.

The surfaces are more than likely different.

    Different Lane conditions

The used ball was plugged and redrilled.

    It all adds up.

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

YES your right,,,, but,, BUT,,,, I should have offered the Storm Guy, more money for that used Byte! I did offer him 200,,,, then 300, but not to be!

Looking back I should have offered him 500.00! I am sure Every Ball Has its price, not unlike most people I know in politics!

Damn,,,, that ball on 4 different lanes was a strike machine I swear!!!

We took it to the shop there at the alley and weighed it, took pictures of the drilling, and pitches ect ect... but this 14lber, that I would not have purchased had it not been for the cheap price, was just too good a deal to pass up! Maybe,,,, it just needs more miles on it? It probably doesn't have 20 game on it so far......

I still dream of that demo day, and all the strikes that Byte game me!!! A love lost, that Iceman let get away!!

I should have grabbed that ball and RAN!!!!

Perhaps it had nothing to do with the ball you were throwing. You were just on your game and throwing strikes.

perhaps,,, that is always a possibility, but remember, I tried every ball Storm had for the demo, and it was the one with the magic!!! I guess I will never know.... but I do wonder what might have happened, if I could have purchased that ball!! I WANTED IT!!

DAMN,,, as I was afraid of!!!! I beat that was the case with that FRICKEN ball I was throwing at the Storm Demo!!

IF I had a Time Machine,,,, what would I do if I could ONLY USE IT ONCE!!

Of all the things I could use that Time Machine for it would be to go back to that DAY, and Do what EVER was necessary to get that Byte!

It was the PERFECT STORM!! LOL (for me!)

This is your best answer, it sums up all the variables nicely .
