Well here we go again, the last 3 weeks 498, 492, 470 and now a 492!!!!
The first 6 frames here are the Bad A$$, not the right ball at the moment. So switched to the Dude, which was close. But I could see towards the end of the 2nd game, the lanes were going fast.
I think I could have went deep with the Bad A$$, as long as I kept it in tight. But frankly I didn't have the confidence and I was worried about the team losing.
Which we did anyway, the last 4 weeks we've basically have been play scratch. We do better if we are either getting pins or giving them, when it's even it's a scramble.
At least this time I had my video camera going to help see what the problem is.
One thing is the conditions are dry, at least for me (and I'm not the only one that thinks this). Now according to the Pro-shop we have medium conditions, this maybe medium for him but not for me.
Looking at the lanes you can see the oil is 10-10, outside of 10 the minimum with clean backends. Normally I can see where the buff ends at about 41', so I know the oil has been cut down.
Another sign of a drier condition is my girlfriends scores have gone up. She uses a plastic ball and when it's oily, it deflects alot more than it is now.
The main problem is my speed needs to be higher. Making my normal shot before the last few weeks, my overall ball speed was around 14.5-15.5 mph. Using my video I determined my average overall speed was about 13.8 mph.(which is close what the monitors say) Which I believe is do to the drier lanes.
I'm going to put 2 of my other balls back in the rotation (a pearl & hybrid) which should help. Also Drew in the shop said I was playing a little to deep and going outside a little too early and I should tighten my line up some. (keep it in the oil more).
