Well here we go again, the last 3 weeks 498, 492, 470 and now a 492!!!!

The first 6 frames here are the Bad A$$, not the right ball at the moment. So switched to the Dude, which was close. But I could see towards the end of the 2nd game, the lanes were going fast.

I think I could have went deep with the Bad A$$, as long as I kept it in tight. But frankly I didn't have the confidence and I was worried about the team losing.

Which we did anyway, the last 4 weeks we've basically have been play scratch. We do better if we are either getting pins or giving them, when it's even it's a scramble.

At least this time I had my video camera going to help see what the problem is.

One thing is the conditions are dry, at least for me (and I'm not the only one that thinks this). Now according to the Pro-shop we have medium conditions, this maybe medium for him but not for me.

Looking at the lanes you can see the oil is 10-10, outside of 10 the minimum with clean backends. Normally I can see where the buff ends at about 41', so I know the oil has been cut down.

Another sign of a drier condition is my girlfriends scores have gone up. She uses a plastic ball and when it's oily, it deflects alot more than it is now.

The main problem is my speed needs to be higher. Making my normal shot before the last few weeks, my overall ball speed was around 14.5-15.5 mph. Using my video I determined my average overall speed was about 13.8 mph.(which is close what the monitors say) Which I believe is do to the drier lanes.

I'm going to put 2 of my other balls back in the rotation (a pearl & hybrid) which should help. Also Drew in the shop said I was playing a little to deep and going outside a little too early and I should tighten my line up some. (keep it in the oil more).

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

Bowl it looks like with the dry you've got going on the bad a$$ is just too much ball or you're going to have to change something in your line or how you are throwing the ball. I struggle with getting the ball out in the dry too early also I've found moving my target a little farther down lane can help with that sometimes. Good luck

Here's a picture of the oil we had that night.

From 10 out I could barely feel any oil at the start, at the end of the night. From 6 in it was just about stripped bare hardly any different than the outside.

    Default week 17

Well a somewhat better week, finally.

After studying the video of me from last week and Using information found online and some tips from the PSO here
, I made a few corrections to my game which helped quite a bit.

We had a little better shot, there was a little more oil (I suspect the reason the oil has seemed off is the machine needs maintenance).

Another almost scratch match! we were only getting 21 pins.

First game the ball (The Dude) was like it was on a rail going to the pocket, which was good. I was matching the other teams anchor ball for ball. He went 279 to my 268. We won by 12 pins.

2nd game while not as good as the first, I don't feel bad about it. I was making good shots, just missed my spares (everyone the ball just barely missed it) We tied this game.

3rd game almost a replay of the 2nd, we lost by only 9 pins. I kind of wanted to change balls, but the dude was staying consistent so I stuck with it. We lost by 9 pins

I improved my release compared to what I have been doing. Now I didn't try to improve my speed any with the changes I made, But I kept track of it tonight and I believe I stayed pretty consistent with it. Average speed was about 13.25 mph that could be a little faster (if I can increase revs to match), but the speed didn't vary by much which was good. see chart

Well a most embarrassing ending to the half.

Last week I shoot my highest game of the 1st half, this week I shoot my lowest game and series of the 1st half.

Well we start over next week, so maybe I can get back on track.

Those nights happen. I still hope for a day when a bad night is in the 500s versus 400s.

Well Meh. at least it was better than last week.

First game didn't look bad, was using the Dude.

10th frame of the second game, I pulled out the Bad A$$ and moved left and shot 3rd arrow.

Did okay up to the 5th frame of the 3rd game.
