We lost our mechanic 3 months ago, and the Gladstone lanes have been a mess! Guys on the senior league that have bowled there for over 30 years, are complaining about not having a shot.
I personally have had my average drop approx. 20 pins because of the inconsistent crazy oil. Many say its like bowling a sports pattern, and very difficult to find a shot.
My average on the Wood last season was about the same, even though I would have some GREAT NIGHTS. Remember they put a different pattern down and length every week, so is was very challenging, that and it was time for the lanes to be reconditioned.
This year the lanes have been refinished... so it will be interesting.
Ok The New DV8 gave me a first game 194, then 182!
I then pulled out my Hammer Deadly Aim,,, and posted a 231 final game.
I did finish my Deadly Aim the night before with a 500, then 2000, with polish. It had a nice move to the pocket, despite the fact
that many were struggling with the oil pattern that was close to being a WHITE pattern in my opinion.
The jury is out still on the Vandal DV8,,, a good house pattern, consistent oil who knows.
The owner of the bowling alley has been checking out the oil, because many, including Hall of Famer Pat Henderson said he was not coming back this fall.
Looking forward to using it this fall, along with the Motiv ball I just ordered for the wood.
