How many 2 handers or 1 handed thumbless guys in your leagues

Are there any women bowlers who use 2 hands? Never seen one. As for Males using 2 hands, once they hit puberty they should only use one hand.

I guess I'm in the minority. I bowl on a team with a two hander who in my opinion if he got some quality work in with a gold level coach could bowl on the tour. Not your typical two hander has good but not excessive speed actually roles a full roller style which make his layouts interesting. Does a good job keeping the ball in front of him. Bowls well even on sport shots.

I also have bowled with the current state record holder (898) who is a two hander but he's more of a house hack he's unbeatable on his house shot but anywhere else he's good but human when I've seen him on sport shots he's not that great.

The best thumbless bowler in the area is not your typical thumbless high rev guy he has speed. Usually trips the speed indicator at about 19 mph. On house conditions he's rough to bowl against but on longer patterns he can't make the ball turn and struggles I've beaten him on Paris and Shark patterns pretty handily.

I don't really care what style anyone bowls with but the guys that think they're all that and can't even roll on a challenge shot I don't have much for weather two handed, thumbless, or power guy.

I've seen a few thumbless bowlers here throughout the years and only a couple of two handers.

We have one on the league I'm on now, if he could control it better he'd do a lot better. As is he is inconsistent with it and sprays the ball around some.

I have seen a few more thumb-less, used to have one on my team. He got some excellent scores but had a lot of trouble if the lanes were dry, overall he was pretty inconsistent.

We have one 2 hand bowler in the leagues I'm in, he is a young guy, looks 14 but I think he is about 20. He has a 140 to 150 average if I recall correctly, he just took over for another guy who got injured so I haven't bowled against him yet.

I don't mind 2 handed bowlers, have nothing against them. I love watching them and the reaction their ball can have with so many revs. Anthony Simonsen is a local 2 handed bowler who is making a name for himself recently in the Pro ranks. Enjoy watching him succeed.

The young punk comment can go to any bowler who doesn't get his way with the pins. Heck, a 50+ bowler in my league that we bowled against couldn't believe he bowled a 150 with his supposed "carry" when he was spraying the ball all over the lane and flipping birds at 10 pin that stayed standing on him.

On Mondays, older league, not as serious....probably 3-7 thumbless bowlers...no 2-handers.

On Wednesdays, older league, more serious....probably 3-9 thumbless bowlers...no 2-handers.

I think the thumbless bowling is a "crutch". It's what you see when you go to open bowling. It's really hard to develop a good bowling release (welcome to my World) and you can "cheat"...and just take your thumb out and kinda half "palm it". If you can do it consistently...it's a very high scoring technique...carries very well. The downside is spare shooting is almost always hit or miss at best. And the pattern can really screw you up. I bowled against some thumbless/palm bowlers and they'd have like one GREAT game...then not so much....then one horrible game. It's a style that needs a lot of oil in the middle and significant bounce room at the breakpoint. Shorter patterns, drier conditions...you can run out of room very, very quickly.

2-handers....same kinda thing. Everyone thinks it's unique...it's just a variation on palm bowling or thumbless bowling. I think you'll see more of this in youth tournaments. Whenever I've faced a 2-hander it's been in some type of tournament where youth bowlers are present. I bowled against one Sunday. Different divisions obviously (Men/Boys). And I think there's a lot more of them at the youth level right now. The question is whether it's a form that these kids can do, at a high level, without significant risk of energy....or whether it's actually harder and Belmo is just a freak of nature...and to survive 10 years of 2-handed bowling without a back injury.

All of us sometimes daydream about going to a style that'll help us get that snap on the backend...and we've all probably tried thumbless/2-handed in practice...but I'm still hoping to get my one-handed standard, traditional form improved to the point I have a good delivery. I'm not convinced 1-handed bowling is dead. When you watch a guy like Mike Fagan throw a ball or Dick Allen or Sean Rash...that's all the revs and backend motion you need. In my opinon.
