    Default Remodel complete

Lanes 1-4 were from the early 60s while 5-12 were installed in 1972. Now finally we have working foul lights, no bent boards and all the monitors work!

Hey bill did they keep the wooden approaches? The remodel looks great they finally
came into the 20th century it looks like. LOL!!!!

I just wish they had kept the wooden approaches at our center when they put in
the synthetic lanes but no they did the approaches also, and I really loved the old
    wood approaches.

They kept the approaches. Brunswick, AMF and Classic all brought samples for new approaches but to a person that works there and bowls chose to stay with what we had.

For obvious reasons I wasn't allowed to take close ups of the old lanes. Example was lane 8 had a board about 45' down at the ten board, about 6 inches long that was warped making any ball that hit it take a hard left. The foul ligts haven't worked in decades. The foundation below the heads on lanes 1-4 was crumbling apart causing balls to bounce when they hit the lane. That they found when the remodel was being done along with some foundation issues in some of the pits. Lane 5 had a crater in it on the left side the size of a ball. Never mind the fact they dried up in half a game. The lanes should never have been certified the last 15 years but the numbers were fudged just because it's the only center in the county.

It's been about a month now and so far we all like the change. Once we get a pattern set we should be able to have more than four guys roll an honor score each year. Four guys totalled 18 300 games last season, I believe 21 the season before which broke the previous record of 3 in a season. 827 was the house record until last year set by Dan Swiger who was considered the best lefty in Ohio until Shannon moved to Dayton.

Sounds like a center we had here that's since closed down. I started bowling there around 2002. It was a all wood center (last one in the city) and known to be the worst in the city. We had only one average over 200 (205) and one 300 in 5 years. I had a 290 in 06 which I tell people would have been like a 350 anywhere else in town lol.

All of our honor scores the last 15 years have been on lanes 9 and 10. Had a roll off for the one of the league championships a few years ago. I picked lanes 7 and 8 only because I knew how much the other team hated that pair. We had more handicap but soundly beat them scratch. Well, they beat themselves really.

Shot my 298 on 3 and 4. Those lanes were so bad even I found the pocket all night.
