Thread: How high would your average rise if only you bowled on your pair of lanes?

My practice sessions do not center on scoring. It centers on different things each time I go out there.

I love to practice just going after the 10 pin because that is where I'm weakest at.

Scoring on a pair of fresh lanes all to yourself is counter productive because you don't have anybody there breaking down your track. You would be better off bowling on a pair that is on the burn. This way here if your go to ball isn't doing what you want it to do, now you have to be able to change your approach by either moving right or left.

If you want to challenge yourself on a freshly oiled pair, ask your center to set up a time to bowl on a sport pattern. The centers here in Vegas have been very good to me in that regard.

The centers here will not put down a sport pattern for you. If you own the pro shop in the house you may have a chance of getting a shot put down for you but that's about it.

    What a shame.

I have a tournament coming up at the end of September that is using a specific patter, and I've had 4 houses put the pattern down for me? Why 4? Because every house plays a little differently.

Make friends with the maintenance guy. I'm pretty close with mine and gave him a lift home a few times and he said he would lay down any pattern I want as long as they have it programmed in the lane machine. I just need to tell him in advanced so he can reserve the last 2 lanes for me.

This would be me too...same reason. And besides, where's the fun? where's the competition of head-to-head bowling? where's the trash talking? All motivators to bowl well!

The maintenance guys in the main 2 houses I bowl at are the most unfriendly people you could meet. Completely unlikable and zero social skills. One is in his 40's an my guess is he lives in his mom's basement. The other is a young kid who just doesn't know how to interact with people.

My primary center won't lay down a special pattern just for me. They would have to run the machine like 4 times to oil 2 lanes... Now a buddy of mine just went back as the manager at another center and I know in the past he has offered to put out patterns. He will usually put out the pba pattern the next regional is on a week or so before.
